The day is almost over yet this kid height can't be found.

Saw someone say he measured 6’5” with a 6’9” wingspan at the McDonald’s All American game last year. Which matches the eye test. But no official Combine measurements yet.

How do you know that wasn't his agent tweeting out there was a mix up?

We're gonna call that groin span.

On the castle measurements for real though I do think he will come out at 6'3.75 wo shoes. Give or take a half inch. I'm not rooting against him. I'm just saying the eye test from the first time I saw him had me thinking he was 6'4. I've seen 37 years of 6'6 guys and whoever listed him as that did him no favors.

In 2024 I still don't know why fans put so much stock into empty gym shooting videos. MKG fooled us with that like 5 offseasons in a row. Clingan probably won't make or take more than 5 3s his rookie year.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

Wait a minute, I completely forgot Jakobe Walter existed. Haven't heard a peep about him in combine talk or being potential picked at 6th. What's the consensus on this guy?

I look at him as a guy who could go late lottery to the early 20s.

Castles measurement will come out and he should be near 6'4. Thinking of players who he can compare to. Is jalen suggs/Josh hart a decent comp?

Which means i wouldn’t get caught up in where a guy is mocked, because 3-20 are likely all the same value of prospect. So why not someone like McCain at 6. Like Jacquez he just seems to be that gritty type of Grizzlies or Heat player that everyone slept on and plays super hard on both ends of the floor

I think McCain could become a slightly better NBA offensive player than college baller. But still feel his defense isn’t up to snuff.

If McCain looks #6 worthy then how about this kid? 6'8" sharpshooters with 6'11" wingspans don't grow on trees.

Speaking of "second rounders" Adem Bona showed out well at the combine. About the same measurables as Isaiah Stewart but looks a lot quicker and springier. Edit: Bam Adebayo might be a better comp. Basically identical measurables and apparent athleticism.

I'm liking PJ Hall with our 2nd round pick. He had a solid combine, he's 6'10, he can shoot it enough where defenses would have to respect him, and he sets hard screens. We had a lot of success under Kupchak taking older, but well developed players in the 2nd but went away from that for some reason. He's the kind of player we should be targeting in the 2nd. Someone that can come in and immediately play a role off the bench.

The problem with Castle shooting 18/25 in that Big Star drill is that a Castle who can shoot is a Top 5 pick in this draft

With the Topic injury there is now a scenario where Sarr Risacher Holland Buzelis Castle are gone by 6, which would suck.

Given that scenario, our best options may be Clingan or Knecht.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Since the Spurs have 2 picks I think they're going to take a wing at 4. I think it'll end up being Holland.

So expected order in front of us is Sarr, Risacher, Clingan, Holland, Buzelis. That leaves us with Castle at 6. If he's 6'4 in shoes instead of 6'2 I'd be happy to have him in Charlotte.

I agree that SA may now take Holland at 4, but I also think Castle is very "Spursy." Either way, Spurs take a wing off the board that would likely have been an option for the Hornets until yesterday. You're right, that Topic injury and SA getting TOR's pick really changes the calculus on SA having to take a PG at 4. A real bummer.

I don't put any stock into the shooting drills. Teams have been fooled by them way too many times to count. Including us with MKG and Cody Zeller.

Bronny James shot 19/25. Edey shot 14/25 and he's never shot a 3pt shot in a game before.

I am officially out on him at #6 after seeing those measurements. That is not good at all.

Compare him to Holland and Walter: 6' 6.50" without shoes, 6' 10.75'' wingspan for Holland, 6' 4.25'' without shoes, 6' 10.00'' for Walter.

Posting for reference. Same as Ron Holland, Karaban here's 6'6.5" w/o shoes, listed 6'8" presumably measured with shoes.

Ah yeah they officially said that there was a mistake and it was actually Devin Carter’s measurements. Most people think he’s 6’5” with a 6’9” wingspan
