With no shoes? If so that's a decent amount better than I thought.

Re: 2024 Draft Prospects
Looking forward to more info coming from the remainder of the combine. However, this is one of those drafts where, ironically, more info may only make it more confusing/difficult for teams to rank their board. I am reading a variety of “reports” just from day one, and there is no consensus building on anyone. Some say Clingan looked really good…another said he looked slow and “plodding”. Sarr, widely proclaimed as #1, had decent numbers but didn’t blow anyone away. Castle had the surprise of the day with his shooting, but many players can shoot these drills well without being guarded (they practice these daily in advance of the combine). The so called “losers” from day one included the little Kentucky twins, who disappointed with their height. Reed cheated a bit to get a crazy vertical number which left a positive spin, and his shooting was stellar of course. The consensus of “winners” were those who demonstrated great shooting in multiple drills, like McCain, Knecht, Furphy, etc. Can see these guys moving up the board as teams try to bank on a definitive NBA level skill set to count on.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Re: 2024 Draft Prospects
reminder this draft is like starting a normal draft at the 5th-10th pick, according to most scouts/front offices. we just need to find a solid rotation guy two years from now. that's my expectation.

Re: 2024 Draft Prospects
I am not saying I would draft him at #6, but Dalton Knecht was awesome at combine.
Measured well, crushed all the athleticism numbers, shot the ball near the top of the list in every drill.
I would be surprised if he makes it out of the first round.

fills a huge need for us, has size, shooting, maturity, and can play now. time to stop adding projects and get more dudes who can contribute.

Re: 2024 Draft Prospects
Dalton is solid.
If we accept the widely held believe that this draft is poop, then drafting guys with definite NBA roles is a plus.
Edey/Clingan = Interior/Rebounder
Reed/Dalton = Shooting/Passing
Holland/Castle = Defense/Slashing

Knecht is a bigger, more athletic, higher volume version of Sheppard.

I suggested Knecht as a possibility a month ago, especially if we fell back in the lottery. Castle could be the better player if available but I’d be happy to give Dalton a shot. Everybody poo poos seniors, because they are a couple years older. I get why younger could be a benefit, but with all the variables that occur throughout player careers, who knows how long you keep someone?
Knecht is supposedly a defensive liability; maybe, but it’s also possible his focus on offense sucked most of his energy. He’s athletic and long enough to get it done…maybe needs development and emphasis. We KNOW he can shoot, score, and is a strong finisher.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Re: 2024 Draft Prospects
My ideal scenario if we do draft Knecht is we sign n trade Bridges for John Collins.
Melo/Knecht/Miller is our offensive minded trio of scorers. And we have Collins/Mark leading the defense with paint protection and rebounding. Also Collins can space the floor with his 3pt shooting. He can also play center if Mark goes down with injury.

Re: 2024 Draft Prospects
Rob Dillingham, PG, Kentucky: Dillingham, a projected top-five pick who ranks No. 4 in our Top 100, wasn't able to fully participate in the draft combine Monday. He sprained his ankle in a workout two weeks ago, Klutch Sports agent Lucas Newton told ESPN, and is expected to be out for another two to four weeks. Even with a more conservative timetable, Dillingham should have enough days available before the June 26 draft to conduct workouts with teams as needed, though he may not need to do more than a handful given his draft projections. -- Givony

Yeah, that is the thing, adding prospects sounds good in a vacuum. When you get a team full of them they don't have any vets to learn from and you end up with an environment that doesn't help them develop. N Smith Jr can't learn how to be an nba player from Bryce, Bouk, Thor, or Kai jones.
You only have a couple of roster spots for guys that are a few years away. We can't fill up the whole team with those guys and expect to win.

Re: 2024 Draft Prospects
Anybody has a Wildcard pick that nobody is talking about as a possible selection for Charlotte?
Kyshawn George is the Wildcard pick for me. 6'8 guard who can handle and shoot. The only question is his athletic ability. Sure that can be a red flag, but like I mentioned before some players simply know how to play under the rim Jokic/Luka.
George is that guy I wouldn't be shocked if the Hornets decided to pick.

I mean at #6 I am not going to go crazy, but I think Bronny is actually a decent pick for the 2nd rounder. He had a 6-7+ wingspan, 40 inch vert, shot it well and has good weight at 210 lbs. He could be a solid Aaron Holiday type of pick as a defensive pg.

Re: 2024 Draft Prospects
If Castle shoots well in team workouts he's not making it past San Antonio at 4.
Sarr is a lock to go 1 still IMO
Houston wants to trade out for a vet, so who knows.
Detroit is taking Buzelis regardless
Washington is the wild card, I can easily see them going Clingan at 2
More than likely one of Topic, Risacher or Holland is there at 6.
