Yeah I’d say he can, he can shoot the 3 and he moves his feet well on defense. Speedy, short point guard tried to take him off the dribble and he stayed with him and blocked the crap out of it.

He’s more of a porzingis type 4 than a centre right now

He is a 4 (just like Victor, despite the size). That's not necessary the position he will keep as a pro, but as a center he does not deliver the necessary dirty work (contestation of the off the ball moves, picks - strong picks i mean... - , box out, help defense esp. in half court sets etc) at least in our young categories.
His qualities are mostly in offense to me, and that includes his face up jumper (stats dont show all, he has a good touch on his jumper) and his speed in transition (on both ends, that's the only plus i see defensively). Again, we 'd like to see some reliable post moves for a guy of his size that most coach will ask to play down low.

Not saying he can't improve though. he will. But to what level ? Victor is a whole other level.

Both Sarr and unfortunately Risacher (i liked him a lot when he was younger, but he at best stagnated with Asvel) are overrated as *bip* currently. they have good potential, but we had (and have) much better prospect

Keep an eye on Yimga-Moukouri, he should be next big thing (with Soliman, i already mentioned them, but they confirmed this summer knowing they are very young still - 16 and 14).

I'd rather see a guy like Batcho if he ever manage to have a full season without injuries as a back up C. At worst he should be able to be a Przybilla clone. At best, he has the game of a Bogut like player. I just hope he did not ruin his development after joining the ncaa couple years ago.

He has shown some glimpses of decent help defending Bravor, hopefully as the season goes on it improves.
He will be setting a ton of picks when he’s on the court as we have a Lillard light player in Cotton and they’ve already done a bit of pick n roll.

He’s already ahead of where they expected him to be and pushing for more minutes

Intrigued to see what kind of leap Proctor makes this season on a loaded Duke team.

same, we really need another shooter in the Aussie national side, Mills is getting old and most others are long play maker/defenders

Risacher has had a pretty solid week so far , both in european cup and in our championship.

It wil be interesting to see if he keeps a minimum consistency. He's playing twice a week for the record with his new team.

incl. yesterday's game

Sarr hit 2 clutch threes in the last quarter to help secure the win for Perth. He's not afraid of the moment.

Alex Toohey having a heck of a game for the Sydney Kings v Brisbane Bullets. He's great at finishing through contact for a 19 year old.

Assuming we draft between 7 and 11 I'm going to preach Tyrese Proctor to play alongside Lamelo all year long. Playmaker with great size. We will see if his shooting progresses this season.

Already so tired of the "draft is bad" narrative. This is said ablut every draft without a Zion/Wemby level prospect.

Talent pool is deeper than ever in this sport and every draft class is gonna have atleast a handful of impactful talent to choose from.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

Diop wrote:I originally posted this reply in a locked thread, so bravor wouldn't be able to reply. Sarr has started the NBL preseason looking like a lock for a top 10 pick next year.

bravor wrote:He's a bit soft (or was in last fiba tournament) but he has some nice fundamentals as a 4/5. Badly needs to improve the dirty work stuff (boxing out, screening at the opposite, banging inside instead of throwing jumpers, learning to trigger the help defense and make the good pass etc).

I still have hopes in Batcho (who left Texas Tech for Louisiana tech of his former coach). He should be in 2024th draft

Speaking of our 'local' prospects, no words on Dent and Rocco on your side ?

he's impressing in preseason against ignite, his size and skills will get him into NBA for sure.

i see how he likes playing away from the basket but he's working hard defensively

his dirty work has really improved, rebounding and shot blocking especially. hes clearly working hard

This is my early favorite because he obviously made up a fake last name:

ETA: guess he's technically class of 25, oh well

be interesting to see how he goes at Kansas, he could be a sleeper.

We need a big defensive guard. Are there any of those in this draft?
I don't support domestic violence. Thanks Miles

We need the most talented player available that isn't an undersized combo guard.

Johnny Furphy, Kansas (#10)
Furphy is a 6-foot-9 guard from Melbourne, Australia. He recently re-classed to the class of 2023 and was considered the No. 35 overall recruit in the 2024 class prior to the switch. Furphy moves fluidly for his size and is comfortable with the ball in his hands -- both as a driver and a passer. Additionally, he also uses his length defensively to stunt drivers and block pull-up jumpers. Lastly, he converted 39.3% of his attempts from three this past season for the Centre of Excellence in Australia. Perhaps someone who's not being talked about enough, Furphy has legitimate potential to be a significant contributor for Kansas this season as a freshman.

good to know. i don't pay attention to college until draft time.
we need a point guard and a big who can shoot and legit wing and POA defenders and more 3pt shooting all over roster, but please no combo guards or raw twig bigs.
