Re: 2022-23 Injury Update Thread
Are players complaining? Or is it the real housewives of Charlotte?
I remember the players (Oubre, Trez, etc) complaining about Borrego last year... and he was fired.
All I've seen in regards to this is chatter from wives and the social media wasteland. Has ANYONE from the org, Kupchak down to Kai, said anything?
Nobody has an obligation to address any **** stirring from Gordon's wife any more than when Bill Simmons started pushing the rumor that MJ was interested in selling the team. And that was potentially much more newsworthy

Re: 2022-23 Injury Update Thread
I'm just guessing... but I'd imagine that the wife isn't doing this all on her own. I don't think Gordon put her up to it, but I assume she is hearing complaints from Gordon and echoing those. Whether or not he's OK with her talking publicly, who knows. I doubt it.
I do wish that MJ and the front office were more connected to the fans, especially when things aren't going well. That's never been his style, which is a shame. As a fan, you just want to know that the owner is still fully invested and not completely checked out on the golf course.
Oh well...

While I agree with your second point, people complained when he sat on the sideline and was engaged. Can't please everyone.

Interesting discussion of Charlotte's injuries and medical staff on the latest episode of Basketball Illuminati:
Starts right around 31:40 if you don't want to listen to the whole podcast (it's a good listen if you haven't heard of it before)

That really comes back to the question of, if we knew the shoulder was fractured and we were just trying to be coy with how it was worded in the injury reports, then why did we let him back on the floor to try to play a few games? If we didn't know it was fractured, why? They do at least offer some ideas as to how it would be possible that the fracture maybe didn't show up initially on an X-ray and only saw it once the bone started healing.

The Hornets medical staff is famous for how well they handle shoulder injuries.

The Hawks saw the comments on here about bad optics around injuries and said "hold my beer."

I think it's 50/50 at this point that there is anything to this. If the wife/mom want to step forward with some receipts I'd be all ears. For example, naming the person(s) in the organization who pressured injured players to give it a go, or providing a second opinion from another MD who vouches for the initial misdiagnosis theory.
This thread has been enlightening. I came here to see if there was any news on the Bridges situation and see where I could ask if we are sitting out players and giving them (too much) time to heal because we have decided to purposefully tank, and it turns out there is apparently some big brouhaha about how we are making players play while injured. I haven't been following the team as much lately, but I still check the box scores every now and then and was wondering why it seems like certain guys (LaMelo, Martin especially, etc.) still aren't playing...

LaMelo, Hayward, and Smith have all reinjured body parts just after coming back from injury already in the first third of this season. Even in the D-League, Mark Williams has had two ankle sprains.
We're very obviously doing something wrong.

Re: 2022-23 Injury Update Thread
NBA players aren't forced to play. If they want to play/feel like they can play, they'll play. (Well I guess not in the Hawks case, but still)
Surely the front office is seeing us already 12 games below .500 in December and now pivoting to "take an extra 3 weeks after you feel fine enough to play" mode

I don't support domestic violence. Thanks Miles

Are we really blaming the team for Melo stepping on a fan's foot after playing a full game in which he looked totally healthy?
