Well that was fun folks, there will be plenty to digest in the coming days.

Correct

Nnaji isn't officially a stash, but with Miller and Nick Smith Jr, and Miles and PJ presumably back, we don't have enough roster spots becuase Kobi Simmons is guaranteed apparently? Maledon is a hold as well

No idea why we would give Kobi Simmons a multi-year guaranteed contract but I do remember us signing him vaguely.

Wasn't horrible but I wouldn't have drafted any of the above... I think we did decent.

Miller - I woulda taken Amen instead (but cool with Miller)

Smith JR - I woulda took Sensabaugh or Nikola Durisic (not cool with this pick)

Bailey - I woulda took Jalen Wilson (This is a fun pick tho with decent upside)

What a night.... what a night. Loved it.

Obviously relieved we stuck to our initial love of Brandon Miller, think he is going to be such a good player for this team in the long run.
Nick Smith was a guy I was lower on in the process as a whole, but that was when I thought he was a top 10 pick or lottery guy. At 27, I love the swing for the fences especially as a compliment to Miller. They actually both played for the same AAU team that was coached or ran by Bradley Beal.
James Nnanji isn't someone who was on my radar, but I know plenty of mocks liked him in the first, seems like a good fit to draft and stash and maybe revisit in a year or two once we have a better read on Kai and Richards.
Lastly, Amari Bailey, really liked this pick for value as I called him out as a guy earlier in the day that was closer to top 20/25 guy for my board personally.

My only complaint is I would have liked to get a big defensive wing but seemed like the FO had different plans. Still need to address that in a trade or FA.

Mitch really is buying low on Bailey and NSJ who were both elite high school prospects, who just had weird college years.

Espn Ranks - Miller (9), NSJ (3) and Bailey (5)
247 ranks - Miller (14), NSJ (1) and Bailey (10)

Heading into the college year people wouldn't believe we had 3 of the top 10 prospects.

This will be a tough draft to grade for me. I believe we had some good picks and I believe we completely screwed one up. I think the best player, not value but player, we picked was at 27 and the second best was a second rounder. I think we would have been better served trading down and taking Dick and getting more assets if we were going to settle for a shooter then get the best one. Will be interesting to see how it plays out and I hope I am wrong about Miller. We started out with a D until our later picks and I would give it a B because they were A material but the 2 pick mess up carried a lot of weight.

The Miami Heat really know who to sign

They got Patrick Gardner and they signed Drew Peterson

and they drafted Jaquez. I LOVE all three of those guys

Also reports Leaky Black is on a two way. So both of those are defenders.

Pretty stoked with the draft. We drafted some solid talent so lets hope they work out for us.

Anyone know what time the press conference is today?

I think passing on Scoot Henderson and calling the team monumentally stupid isn't pessimistic. It's realistic.

You seem pretty confident in your opinion, are you going to come back and eat crow if you're wrong?

Probably not, because I'll get banned for having a dissenting opinion. Softest mods I've ever seen in a forum.

To their credit, they don't silence every dissenting opinion. Just mine.

Should I eat crow for saying Miles was a stupid pick when SGA was on the board in 2018? Or that LaMelo was going to be a star and was the right pick in 2020? Or that Mark was going to be a solid C for years in 2022?

Anyway, Miller was EDITED: a fantastic :D :D :D :D pick.

Judging by Mitch's comments last night, we probably don't want him speaking

Objectively, Mitch is worse than Rich Cho. Cho was an idiot who was way out of his league, but it seemed people knew it. They conveniently ignore Mitch's colossal ineptitude.

Now, they'll call that trolling, too, since it's not blindly optimistic and it came from me.

If you're the only dissenting voice that gets silenced, I have a feeling it's not because it's dissenting

Oh sure, man. Seven posters could copy and paste anything I write, and they'd have no problem with any of those seven posts. Been that way for years.

My favorite Cho memory was when he accidentally introduced Dwayne Bacon as Dwayne Wade in the presser

Only thing more pathetic than this team's post-Bob Bass GM lineup, is its ownership history.
