Lol I thought the link was about GH. It's about Oubre missing months. JFC.

WE SHOULD HAVE TRADED HIM A MONTH AGO. or never picked up the option.

Yeah, we aren't trading him now. Another wasted asset.

And hand soreness that played on for months was actually a torn ligament.. what is going on with this medical staff?

In related news, hats off to oubre for playing thru that. I had torn ligament in my right thumb 25 years ago. It still hurts.

Gordon better go see if his hamstring is still attached to the bone.

The league needs to rig the draft to make sure the Hornets don't get Wemby.

edit:
Spoiler:
Seriously, if they get Wemby MJ better double whatever his current budget for medical staff is. Hire a specialized team just for Wemby or something. Idk how this stuff really works, but they better go all out on the medical front, whatever that means.

Zion is out a month with a hamstring strain.

Wonder if Gordon will be out that long.

If thats the case, or even longer since hes a slow healer, then all they need to do to secure the tank is trade Rozier and Plumlee.

Plumlee should be really easy to trade if they want. The Rozier situation is complicated by how bad he is playing and the contract + draft pick situations of the teams that would be interested, so idk how easy it will be to find the right value if he doesn't start playing better soon.

Has he hit 30 games played yet? If so, he's probably out for the rest of the year.

Wouldn't be surprised if they just shut him down.

"It feels a little bit better," he said. "It doesn’t feel like those other ones."

IMO good reason to shut him down this season. Ankle injuries that become chronic need T I M E to heal. That wrist could use some extra easy.

Doubt they do this but the Ball brothers do seem more fragile as a whole.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

This is Cody Martin talking about his knee situation in an observer article. Pretty much confirms they let him rush back and return too soon... Also, the way the knee problem was being described made it seem potentially not good.
"Yeah, I probably came back a little sooner,” Martin said. “But knowing me, I’m a competitor and I want to get out there and play. So, I wanted to be smarter about that, and that’s what I’m doing now, is probably doing what I should have done and just making sure I’m ready before I go out there, and making sure things are taken care of. My health has to be a priority right now.” There’s not really an alternative given the lingering pain and soreness.

Which time? We rushed him back twice.

But knowing me, I’m a competitor and I want to get out there and play.

I'm down to diss the org but this is 100% on Cody. They "let" him because HE said he was good to go. HE rushed himself back.

i dont know the answer, but i'd love to know how most pro sports teams handle injuries. competitive players will often want to play too soon. certainly teams, in 2023, have figured out the best processes for taking the emotional aspect out of the equation to protect their massive investments (especially in a useless situation like this season. its not like this was him coming back for playoffs). i'm not giving hornets a pass because of the abundance of missteps this season with players coming back too soon. its not really that different to keeping players on sidelines after a potential concussion. it cant solely be left up to the player to decide. that should only apply to situations where there is no danger of reinjury and its simply a pain tolerance issue.

we probably cooked kemba's knee - but thats a conspiracy theory for another day. :-?

cody has blame, but certainly so do hornets. its not black and white.

i probably have a bit of a bias on this because i went to the hornets ortho dr for an injury back in 2006 (before he was team dr). i did not like him, at all. misdiagnosed, dismissed, waited for an hour each time for him to barely set one foot in the room. he couldnt leave fast enough. just left a bad taste and i remember when he was hired as team dr, i was like.... yikes! dont sue me dr lol

pure guess, but i'd venture to say we arent known around the league for our medical staff in a good way.
