The Wolves have already stolen game 1, and could put a stake through the Nuggets here with a second road win. Does missing this game signify a lack of killer instinct on Gilbert’s part? Experiencing the birth of your child is more important than any basketball game. Gobert will be retired from basketball in a few years... but he'll be father the rest of his life.

That's nice and all, but doesn't really constitute MJ for having "killer instinct". If he decided to miss a game to see his first childborn, he'd still be considered as someone who had killer instinct.

I'm going to assume you're young, and aren't even close to having a child yet. But a lot of people, athletes included, prioritize their family over their job. And it's really not that hard of a decision to make, playoffs or not.
