Yeah, he's talked about how much Steph's tips helped his shooting.

Splash cousin
Both Klay and DiVicenzo averaged 15 3-pt attempts per 100 possessions this year.

Donte and Curry apparently got close during his year at GS. According to this article in The Athletic from a few months ago it was not just tips on shooting. When several teams were showing interest (including Minnesota--ouch) he called Curry who told him the Knicks would be a quality fit. DDV said, "....to have somebody of that stature to almost voice the opinion that I’m thinking — it makes you feel good about the decision you’re making…..He reinforced what I was thinking about New York.”

On shooting Donte said, “I used to think feet squared, shoulders squared, release and everything had to be aligned and everything,” DiVincenzo said. “And I get he’s almost an anomaly. But what’s so much different is as long as his shoulders are good, he doesn’t care about anything else.”

Donte has been great. But I hope the Knicks somehow make a play for Mikal Bridges and have Divo come off the bench as a sixth man.

No

To me he is the third best player in the NBA - Luka and Embiid are comfortably ahead of him.

Why? Manu Ginobli was a sixth man?

That's a good comparison. Would you really take him over Herro

depends, do you want someone that plays defense or someone that doesn't play defense?

Then you need to factor the contract, one makes 11 mil the other 30 mil

Lastly, let’s not forget one needs the ball in his hands at all times to be effective, the other can play off ball.

FarBeyondDriven wrote:small combo guards are a dime a dozen. We should really stop elevating role players because they have a few good games or a strong series against bad defenses. It's silly. There's a reason he's on his 4th team in 4 years. When the Knicks fail to advance Divincenzo and his limitations will be a major reason for it. If he's your worst starter or a 6th and getting paid like it, than you're golden. If you're expecting anything more and are paying for it, you'll be disappointed.

Seems to be working so far in the playoffs for an undermanned team.

Many teams need a SG like him and don't have one.

I love the story that DiVencenzo consulted Curry about his free agency and that Step encouraged him to take his talents elsewhere where he’s going to be used more.

Caleb Martin made 84 three pointers last year in the regular season and averaged 9.6ppg starting 49 of 71 games played. Averaged 12.1ppg last year playoffs making 44 three pointers in 23 games played in them.

Divo made 283 three pointers this season and averaged 15.5ppg starting 63 of 81 games played. Averaging 20.6 this year playoffs making 32 three pointers in just 9 games played so far in them.

If Divo is a poor man's Klay Thompson then Caleb Martin is a poor man's Divo.

Just scored 28pts with 50% fg

Previous 2 games scored 25pts & 23pts

He's been amazing for the Knicks!

How great can he be next season?

Real question, do you think there should be a thread on the general board for every player averaging 14, 3 and 2?

Real question, did you ask this in the PJ Washington thread?
