I enjoy the TNT show when the guys are bantering. Their basketball analysis is awful though (they never watch the actual game).

I don't think I care about the TNT guys as much as most fans do. The basketball analysis sucks and they are more annoying to me than they are funny.

But I've been wondering what happens to NBATV if TNT loses their NBA coverage. NBATV is owned by Turner too.

Is NBATV going to stop existing? I really enjoy having a channel dedicated to the NBA.

I’m down for whatever as long as they get Dray in there:

The four-time NBA All-Star added that Knicks fans are being set up for disappointment.

"And I think what this is setting y’all up for is what happened to the Atlanta Hawks three years ago when they made the conference finals, and they never got back." The Hawks advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021, before losing to the Milwaukee Bucks in five games. The Bucks went on to win the NBA Finals that season.

Green also used the Portland Trail Blazers' miscalculations after the team's appearance in the 2019 Western Conference Finals as a warning to the Knicks. He also shared a gloomy prediction for the Knicks, saying there were "years of misery" ahead.

"…Another team that did this just to give you perspective was the Portland Trail Blazers years ago when they had Al-Farouq Aminu and Allen Crabbe, all those guys went to the conference finals, and we swept them pretty much without Stephen Curry," Green said.

"Then Portland ran off and paid all of those guys because they thought they had a team that had a chance and it was a fluke and that is what the Knicks are setting y’all up for. It’ll probably be another 15 years of misery, and we’ll all sit around at laugh at Knicks fans with their delusion, because that’s just what happens."

At least for the US, it'd be nice to have more games on another broadcast network. I think that's an underrated part of why the NFL is so big.

Most of the youngins on this board aren't old enough to have experienced NBC and seen how superior it's coverage was to ESPN/ABC/TNT.

Every game felt like the Super Bowl.

ESPN/ABC's coverage is laughably bad.

Hornet Mania wrote:It's a valid point to mention that NBC today is not going to be the same as NBC when we last saw it in 2002. However, that network has done a fantastic job with NFL Sunday Night Football since picking it up 15yrs ago. Their production values are high and they treat the sport with respect while adeptly hyping up the night's matchup. If a return to NBA on NBC is of the same quality as NBC SNF it will be the best network covering the association.

I will echo what many other have already said, we just need to dump ESPN/ABC. Disney's NBA coverage has been an embarrassment for a long time and, imo, has hurt the sport by lowering the mainstream discourse into the gutter. I don't actually think TNT was that great, their broadcasts were just competent and the Inside guys were funny and charming, but they were head and shoulders better than their peers broadcasting the NBA during the last twenty years.

On point.

Agreed but they enjoy dumb commentary as they fit with their own single digit in the IQ arena. Chuck is a dumb ox trying to sell Subway sandwiches with his voice getting these same posters to think it's the best Sammy ever Lol

I love Roundball Rock as much as anyone, but the Inside crew works well right now, and good God people, it's a song. If we assume they're not migrating to NBC, this isn't a discussion IMO.

Exactly. NBC’s coverage was good but I assume most of the people we liked are retired close to it.

ABC/ESPN needs to go. Their announcing teams are mostly bad and their studio coverage is un-watchable.

Actually, they will use a new theme to represent a new era of basketball on NBC with the following new intro.

I doubt it. They might "redo" the theme slightly but probably keep the overall melody. Like how ESPN did with their 1992-2004 NHL theme

Just a humorous nod but the beat is contagious. John Tesh wants his royalty to pick up once again.

I voted TNT.

If NBA goes with NBC -- I hope the TNT crew doesn't join with ESPN and be with those clowns.

As classic as the John Tesh song is, the TNT crew are unmatched and more important to the broadcast as a whole compared to a song intro. Maybe we’ll get real lucky and NBC gets it, brings the song back, and hires Ernie, Charles, and Kenny.

NBC for the simple fact I have had a gutful of Reggie and Stan Van Grumpy, plus always loved NBC's theme music in the 90s, a pivotal part of my early/teenage years of being an NBA fan

NBC just to switch things up. And yes, I loved their production in the 90s.

I honestly think the TNT production has gone downhill because for some reason, they ditch great themes like:
