If people are falling for these filters, can you imagine the effect that AI is going to have on older people?

Maybe it'll help them be able to use the self checkout.

Thanks everybody! Your responses in this thread brightened my day!

Lately, it seems like a loud segment of the world is meticulously pouring through everything on the internet over the last twenty years, trying to find anything they can be publicly outraged about. It seems like they want to show how sensitive they are to everyone, and if you disagree, then they come after you.

People need to look at intent. The Pacers aren’t trying to offend anyone, just make the game (emphasize “game”) a bit more fun.

Thank you all for understanding that!

Lets be honest...that game didn't and doesn't matter. It literally didn't even count as a regular season win for the standings .

I mean, the players got cash for it. Davis even said the younger players on the team said they've never had that much money before, so in a way it mattered. Just not for you.

Also, when the Pacers won the 1st game of the elimination round, they were celebrating like they won the Larry O'Brien. It mattered to them. Alot. And in the final Vs the Lakers they were never in that game from the jump.

Now they wanna gloat after beating them in a much less meaningful game. To each their own I guess

You’re right.

I’m going to write the Pacers PR team immediately and inform them they are not allowed to have fun because they lost the inseason tournament to the Lakers.

No half time show. No music. Anyone who smiles at the sporting even must be immediately escorted off the premises, because as we all know, when you lose an inseason tournament game, it means the team is never allowed to have fun again.

Honestly, the entire media team should be fired for trying to make people laugh when the team is such a disgrace.

I’m not gonna lie, I’d be laughing so hard if they did that to me in the arena, but I’d probably find it super annoying if they posted it on social media with how many people don’t realize it’s a filter.

I'd think most people on social media would understand its a filter. I'm 35 years old and I've never seen someone make THAT face while crying haha, much less a bunch of people back, to back, to back, to back, all while "sobbing" over a regular season basketball game. Anyone who didn't know its a filter is unlikely to bother the people about it anyway, most of them probably look completely different anyway as that filter is quite extreme.

Of course, what do I know? I didn't expect people to be offended by this, so I could be entirely wrong about all of that too.

Right, but I suspect that are in the very small minority and probably don't often venture to places like Twitter/X, Instagram, or TikTok. In other words, don't see anyone on those social media platforms being a problem for someone in the audience.

A game that counts towards playoff positioning is less meaningful than a game that does nothing for anyone but end of bench guys that are making close to the league minimum.

Very interdasting

I don't even care about which game is meaningful vs which isn't, I just think its hilarious that because the team lost a game months ago, that it somehow means the media team is not allowed to goof around and have fun.

The Kings lost meaningful playoff games last year. They are never allowed to light the beam again!

Oh for sure, even if this was game 82, Indiana was 0-81 going in and they did this, it would be hilarious. Same if it was flipped.

I'm just enjoying hearing how Indiana did this because they were hurt from losing a serious game against the Lakers, which, I initially, and apparently, incorrectly assumed was the finals decades ago.

But then, to hear that the NBA "Cup" was the serious game and somehow more meaningful, just hilarious.

Wish more NBA arenas would do stuff like this tbh. NHL sides typically poke fun at the visitors.

The people who run the Jumbotron have the job of entertaining the crowd. I’d say they succeeded.

I haven’t been to a Bucks game in a while, but they’d have actors dress up in the opposing team’s uniforms, and Bango would pretend that they got moved up to courtside seats but then he’d kick them out of the arena.

It’s not the players or the team talking trash to the Lakers. It’s the arena entertainment entertaining the crowd.

I always wanted to see something like this, sad lakers fans. Why not? They drove me to hate them & like the clippers. I'm not the only one either. If there can be a video montage of sad cowboy fans, there should definitely be one of laker fans, pats fans, & some other hated fanbases. Oh, that's right, espn loves the lakers too much. Even though I don't hate the cowboys or hate their fans, seeing these 2 videos always cheer me up. They're both great its hard to choose just 1.
