A lot of that is on Trae, regarding fit. He refuses to play off the ball. That's why Trae-Dejounte pairing doesn't work.

Dejounte can play off the ball. For Trae, he would rather sit in a corner and not move, when Dejounte brings up the ball.

And aren't Trae and Brunson in pretty similar situations? Brunson is just a better player at this point.

I guess Pop wanted Wemby to be in a "learning situation only" this year, but in hindsight -- esp given how ready Wemby was -- it's wild that they didn't find him a competent offensive PG like Young.

Watching Sochan and Tre Jones trying to run an NBA offense is brutal/

There's a reason you're not digging deeper. It's because it would kill your agenda.

Trae + Murray = negative -6.1 net rating, more to do with fit than anything. Both have postive net ratings when one is on the court.

Traes offensive efficiency is barely good enough to overcome his small size and lack of D, but not good enough to make his team elite.
He needs to work on his 2point % to 52% at least and get his 3s to at least 40% maybe take better shots honestly.

That's a big ask but he has to become an elite offensive efficient player to leapfrog his D.
Like if he had decent D and was a bit bigger his current % wouldn't be as bad for translating stats into team success and wins.

Trae just needs a better fit. Put him on the Spurs and he‘ll look like the second coming of Stephon Curry

Trae might legitimately get moved this off season and all the blame belongs to the FO of Atlanta. Like anyone clear as day knows Trae Young would be a god next to AD or Wemby, I mean he could even do magic with Gobert. Atlanta got Trae Young Clint Capela and it's been a travesty.

With the news today, we should get an idea of how the league rates Trae.

I still would be surprised if hawks traded him. It’s always rumors according to “rival” nba executives that never materialize.

Hawks “could” or “may” look to trade him….yeah they “could” or “may” look not to trade him as well.

If the Mavs win the title, the trade the Hawks made is one of the biggest trade blunders in league history.

Of course the Suns and Kings both passed up a chance to draft Luka to draft players who have not done much in the league.
