Talking about gifts, who does not remember the Olympic Games Final of 2008. It was the French referee Chantal Julien who officiated during the decisive game between Spain and the USA. And now, in an interview with the French magazine Basketnews, Chantal comes back to this memorable game with the following words: You don’t call the same things on the Americans than you do call on other teams. You have to call the most evident of the evident things. If you whistle a travel every time that Kobe Bryant starts a drive, you will get whistled, you as the referee…During the final, the Spanish team has been penalized on the US travels. With the consequences that we know at the end with the two technical fouls on non-called traveling violations. This was embarrassing…

no other team could get gold
all i see is wrestling, it doesnt matter if its the nba, the euro leagues, the olympics, it does not matter wich sport it is. It can be gimmnastics, it can be track and field. Its all the same crap with a different mask

Lol, uh huh. Just so you know, the USA team will never be dominant like they used to be in the 90's and before. The Spain team was missing their starting PG too, no respect though, makes sense :roll:

I just do not get referring in basketball though, if it is a foul call a frickin foul. If it is a travel, call it. Who cares who it is, seriously, if anything is going to hold back the game in the world scale is the inconsistency in the refereeing. I don't care about the USA team or the Spanish team, this is pretty sad to read though.

Spain wasn't playing their best ball, so it probably wouldn't have mattered anyway as the US were just clicking this tourney.
I'm not surprised, articles like that come out all the time but the great teams know how to get past obstacles.

okay and whats your point? That team was absouletely stacked in '92. I don't think any of the players would take it as a shot against them if people said this years team wouldn't be as good as the Dream Team. I don't expect a team to be as good as the Dream Team.

And honestly this years team was at least comparable to the '96 team IMO.
