Minnesota has done an excellent job building a team to beat Denver and most teams. They have the side inside to defend Jokic.

The rest of the Nuggets are being paid a great deal of money to be productive. It would be nice to see MPJ take over more.

Minny got better. Ant took a step forward, they have more chemistry, and their bench is great. The twolves have the best 4-12 in the league by far. They have the DPOY, 6th man of the year, coach who should've won CoY, and the guy who is presently playing like the best player in the world.

Last years Nuggets weren't a fluke but both these statements can have some truth.

1. They were a better team last year as they lost key depth
2. Murray was healthy last year and isn't now
3. The wolves are the best team the nuggets have faced in the last two postseason runs

But Murray wasn't hurt and playing like trash then.

No Jaden and Naz Reid isn't essentially the same.

To answer the topic though, no Nuggets weren't a fluke and they beat everyone put in front of them but the Wolves have also gotten better. Both facts aren't directly correlated.

Last few years have been pretty awful when it comes to the quality of NBA teams, relative to historical norms.

Nuggets just happened to be the best of a not so great bunch.

Its still pretty bad, but OKC and MIN have taken pretty big steps forward.

You say murray is hurt but say the wolves are essentially the same team as last yeat, ignoring that Reid and McDaniel were both out last playoffs.
