D'Angelo Russell is an interesting player. If he wasn't arguably the least athletic guard in the NBA, he probably would have been a perennial All-Star, with his talent.

He deserves the right to brag after that play.

I’m no fan, but I agree, if he had more athleticism .. and more importantly DRIVE .. I could see him as an All Star.

He is certainly a student of the game and can be a smart player at time. He has self-confidence, but he still struggles choosing when to pass and when to call his own number, ever since his OSU days. At 6-5, he has length. But he’s a streaky shooter and doesn’t feel he needs to work hard on defense, so on nights his shot doesn’t fall, he’s a big liability. When I see his lack of hard work on defense, I wonder if that translates over to the weight room, and he doesn’t work hard enough to be a better athlete?

I know MIN fans are rejoicing they have replaced DLo with Mike Conley, so maybe he feels disrespect there too?

The Swaggy P thing when he was a rookie?

There has been a lot. Like he has always been hated and then traded. Just this season Lakers fans wanted him traded. Have you ever seen anyone say anything positive about him?

DLo is definitely talented. Gotta do it in the post season though.

I have, but most of his positive then comes with a "but". DLo is a solid player, "but", DLo shoots the three well, "but".

I’ll be the first to admit I was dead wrong about D Lo but that Nuggets series still looms large. He has to show up in the postseason or else none of this matters.

I see what you’re saying.

Hate to ride on the bandwagon “but” he was freaking unplayable in the playoffs last year. I’m talking traffic cone with a broken jumper and Josh smith’s shot selection.

So as a Lakers fan, I hope he’s able to play well in the playoffs this year. Love to see growth and overcoming adversity in a player.

Playoffs have been a problem for him his whole career, so we'll see what happens if the Lakers get there

Lakers need to make playoffs first; and D Lo needs to play a role in their push.

He’s been good so far. But He needs to be consistent

Glad to see D-Lo do well, but to be honest, much of the media and social media criticism against him over the years was warranted.

Also with his comments about being an 'on court killer' he probably will have a target on his back from opposition players/defenders for the rest of the season

I personally don't think he has enough proven big game credits in the bank to talk such smack, he should be more focussed on trying to get the Lakers having a successful run from the play in for the rest of the season

I think he’s always lacked actual confidence. Not pride, obviously 99% of nba players have that.

Hopefully a little breakthrough for consistency and impact for him

HotRocks34 making it sound like D'Angelo Russell defined his legacy when it is just a regular season game on March for a non playoff team.

I like D-Lo, but he is what he is... He's the kind of dude who can shoot you in and out of games, and you just never know which version you're going to get on any given night.

I think he's a "starter" but by no means a "star".

6 points tonight for DLo

I actually like the kid and he has been fun to watch these past few weeks, but he put the mozz (Aussie slang for curse) on himself with that interview.

He has grown up and matured as a person and player, so I expect him to bounce back next game,.it's just amusing to me how often brash statements like this almost always backfire immediately lol

Trade fodder again once the Lakers have an early offseason.

Who’s more athletic, him or Kyle Anderson?
