It's also pretty hard to win a series when Kelly Oubre was your third best player.

They don't need stars, 3-star teams don't work anyomore, too much money. I guess if PG wants to come, that's a different story because he would be such a good fit, but otherwise they would need two really good 3&Ds and a backup 5 who can also shoot. What is the pick situation?

Basic question would be what could you possibly get that could replicate the value Joel Embiid brings to your team and franchise? Even if it’s 7 first round picks there’s no guarantee any of them become anywhere near Embiid as a player.

You don’t trade a superstar who wants to be there. If he starts agitating to leave it’s a different conversation. But teams work for 25 years to get a player of his caliber. You don’t trade that guy unless the situation is completely untenable.

Like I’ve seen star treatment but embiids treatment is unparalleled…if Jokic got embiids treatment he would be the GOAT already and I am not exaggerating….greatest ever

You will never get equitable value for Embiid. The fact is he is always hurt and a player of his size will not have a long prime like Lebron. Trade Embiid, stockpile some assets and build around Maxey.

Lakers will think about giving up D Lo for Joel
What else can the sisters include in the trade package :)

Top 5 RS player, but the problem is in the playoffs with the increased intensity against good teams he gasses in the 4th and they lose close games. Even in game 5 which they won it was Maxey with 17 pts in the 4th, while Embiid only had 2. Game 4 Embiid had 1 pt in the 4th.

Wouldn't shock me if he got all buddy/buddy with someone at Team USA and asked out.

Embiid will only decline from here. Maxey is still young. PHI has no assets to get quality players. It doesn't make sense for Embiid to stay in PHI anymore. It would be better to get some quality assets and reload around Maxey without losing playoff position.

Don't they have cap space to give Playoff P a big deal? That's they're only hope really. He's a great fit, but obviously the age is a concern.

Yeah well what if those assets are a couple role players, a lottery pick which becomes Cody Williams, and some firsts that you don’t get to use until 2027 or so?

Because this was a lottery team without him. 16-27 and it was even worse than that. If you trade him, and don’t immediately nail the rebuild, you get fired.

This is why teams don’t do this stuff.

Everyone in here is going to want Luka, Jokic, AD, Shai etc lmao but the reality is Joel is a gamble with his health moving forward.

George for Embiid
Draymond/Wiggins for Joel
Durant for Joel
DLo/Reaves/Rui/Vando for Joel
Bam/Robinson for Joel
Lillard for Joel

There's plenty options and teams that would be interested

They aren’t trading a guy who should have been MVP this year if he was healthy.

Wait until he is heading to NYK this summer.

We don't want him anywhere near our franchise.... Foh :nonono:

He was clearly playing hurt and he still averaged 33 ppg this series. I mean pretty hard to put this on him.

He is hurt every playoffs.

They're not trading him unless he asks out. Philly has a chance to be really good next year. They are off the hook for Harris and can potentially replace him with a real player like PG/Siakam/Lebron.

Yeah you're still rolling the dice on an injury prone Embiid, but it's not like they have anything better to do.

Neither of those guys you named are likely to leave.

In reality they are looking at Miles Bridges or Demar DeRozan.

How many decades of picks are the Lakers adding to that platter of stuff?
