... and have the best TO/assist ratio in the league, average 90% from the FT line, 50 from the field and 40 from 3. All that while averaging a double double in points and assists as a starter, on a winning team, without a real back-up (Darrick Martin doesn't count) with Ford out.

And yeah he can dribble the ball up the floor.

He may NOT get voted by the coaches, but you can definitely make a case for him to be there. Why no to All-Star? because he's not a big name player?

He does have great stats as a starter but they are supposed to be voting on what he's done all year, not just as a starter. 12.1 PPG and 8.6 APG is very good, but it doesn't really scream all-star.

Plus he's not very good defensively, and he would be the 2nd all-star on the team. Does Toronto deserve 2 all-stars more than other playoff teams deserve to have one?

Ray Allen shouldn't get mentioned. His shooting %'s are worse in Boston than they were in Seattle. He's getting by on the Celtics record and some gamewinners.......
I'm so tired of the typical......

If Ray Allen, Vince Carter, or Micheal Redd make it over Rip I'm going to be pretty pissed.

1. Did you make my Caldy avatar yet?

2. That sarah chick ripped you apart in last night's game thread, I think she has a crush on you.

3. Why do his picks suck? I actually liked them. I guess Rip and Calderon are up for debate in the East. I thought the West was good, a lot of guards, but all deserving.

What is Hedo shooting again? He's having a real good season, but he's also jacking up quite a few shots to reach those numbers. There's a reason he's not really being discussed. I don't think he gets much consideration, at all.

Rip and Hedo are both averaging 19.1 PPG but Rip is shooting much higher %'s.

Rip plays better D than Hedo and Detroit is more deserving of having 2 all-stars than Orlando.

Butler is a clear cut all-star and Jamison is getting 20-10. Calderon is not putting up all-star numbers and he won't be at the game anyways unless he buys a ticket.

19.1 PPG on 44% shooting, 2 3PT FG per game on 37% shooting, 4.4 APG, 1.1 SPG. 83% FT. 6 RPG, for a small forward.

Remind me again, why does he not get considered?

Butler is having a career year and Jamison joins Dwight Howard as the only two players in the East Averaging 20+ PPG and 10+ RPG.

Jamison is having a better season than Bosh.

Two terrible arguments. Defense is not a big factor in ASG selections, since there is no defense played anyway. Regardless, Rip is not a significantly better defender than Hedo. He managed to get a jump ball call on LeBron to end a game, which is nearly impossible with the refs being ordered to whistle upon breathing on LeBron in late game scenarios.

Detroit is not more deserving than Orlando of having 2 All-Stars. It's not about record, it's about individual talent.

Right, and his 44% from the field justify that statement.

Coaches do consider defense and team record in all-star voting. Has Ben Wallace been an all-star? When Detroit had a 35-5 record in 06 they had 4 all-stars. If they were 15-25 they might not have even had one.

To think otherwise is ridiculous.
