Thanks to a combination of Nico Harrison a guy who left Nike and had no GM experience, and now looks like a damn good GM and Cuban selling the majority ownership and being stripped of control of trades. Those trades happened almost immediately after the power shift.

People have been talking a lot about Kawhi's fitness or Westbrook's craziness but actually, the real deep story of this série so far is that the Mavs are winning despite Luka having possibly the worst PO série of his career so far (or let's perhaps rather say his least shining one) and Kyrie having a relatively average one especially comparing to the level he showed in the last few months.

Don't recognize this kind of Mavs team but I sure love watching a team defend like this for 48 minutes and the hustle to loose balls and PJ Washington just clowning multiple Clippers was just the cherry on top. Mann and Westbrook trying to be all like we bad we bad, and he just turned away from Mann like you got nothing and just laughing at Russ.

Fake tough versus real tough. Westbrook and Mann wanted to chirp chirp chirp and Washington knew they wanted nothing more lol.

And the centers showing up was so nice. Lively the lob threat thats been missing and Gafford protecting the paint. That block on the PG dunk attempt.....

It’s weird to think that Kawhi and PG have been with the Clippers almost as long as CP3 and Blake were. They had Lob City for 6 seasons, this is the 5th season with Kawhi and PG. This whole run with them has felt weird since Kawhi has missed so much time.

What kind of contract does PG get this offseason?

He is 33 and already showing signs of declining.

I said after last game that if Gafford could get back on track the Mavs would become dangerous again. He had 3 points and 1 rebound in the first two games combined. Him and Lively bringing the dunks back to the Mavs offense opened things up for them enough they were even able to survive a bad game by Luka.

He looked much much better in game 2, he was great defensively, and was OK offensively except for an off jumper which could've been written off as rust.
Today he was just bad, on both ends.

really? i dont remember thinking he was moving that well in game 2. i thought he was just getting his basketball legs under him, but i dont recall ever thinking he got over the hump. am i misremembering?

degenerative knee issues dont get better with age. not trying to be mean, its just a fact. he needs to be on a team where he can take 35 games off, while the team still wins most of those games, and then wish on a star that he can be healthy in the post season. if all those conditions arent met, we're gonna keep getting the same results

He had 2 plays where he couldn't shake Luka off, and went 0-5 from 3, and it stuck out, but he was much better than this game, especially defensively.
