They'll scour the market for a big or maybe draft one, idk. Id love to see them go after Edey but after the Valanciunas experiment they're probably looking for a different archetype of big

Anyhow, JV would be a great fit with the Thunder (they need bigs/vets) or the Kings.

Good if true. Traditional bigs just does not have a place in the modern NBA anymore.

Atlanta could use but Jonas would have a great deal of pressure on him since Trae doesn't play defense.

Of all the starters ZIon & Jonas had the best 2 man pairing outside of the 10 games Daniels started. CJ has the worse 2 man pairing with Zion but he's fresh off a 30m extension.

Jonas slow feet didn't & doesn't mesh with CJ's perimeter defense. (The Pelicans starters in 100 minutes with Daniels over CJ were +20). Apposed to a net negative with CJ starting.

Pelicans are now capped thanks to CJ's 30m & other upcoming extensions like Murphy & BI. Jonas is 32 & his 15m salary is outpriced & outdated for the young roster. More than likely they will fill this hole via trade to save face for poor roster & cap management.

As I watched the Dallas game and many OKC-Sac games I expect OKC to sign him. OKC can be exploited by teams that can bully Holmgren. But Chet can play 4 or 5.

Val gives them the strong center players like Sabonis or Embid or Jokic can’t bully and let’s OKC flex in any direction they want.

No secret that he is my guy, my favorite basketball player. But being objective, he is just not good enough to start anymore. I think if we gave centers some imaginary number/ranking, maybe Jonas' ranking in a vacuum would not be low, but the type of player he is, he just needs to be better than what he sadly is.

Look at Memphis, Jonas was good player for them, I think no one would argue that he was bad. He was still scoring, rebounding machine of ridiculous efficiency. And on face value those numbers would seem hard to replace, but he leaves Grizzlies, team just starts playing differently, Ja has more action, pace is higher, less clogging in the paint - team wins over 50 games right away.

For what Jonas gives, what style of play he forces onto you, he sadly either needs to be better, he needs to be go to guy ala Jokic, or he just needs to be situational bench piece. That is who he is.

I agree that he would be great on OKC as Chet's backup, sometimes starter. When he signed that 16 mil per year contract 4 or 5 years ago, I thought he was duped, I thought it was big underpay. But looking back, it really wasn't. He just celebrated his 32nd. birthday a week ago, he is not looking for an upgrade contract, he always knew his limitations IMO. He always was just a guy from Utena. I think he is looking to sign a moderate role player contract and I think he transitions to official bench player role. He already is that, he just technically starts games, but what does it matter when you barely play second halves, it is meaningless title that most Europeans never cared for to begin with.

I would rather have him than Kelly Olynik but ... sigh. He still has value in the league. Could go back up Embid in Philly. Probably a good fit there for what they are doing.
