I'd love to ask Durant if he's already thought about where he'd like to go when it doesn't work out in Miami?

Butler to L.A
KD to Miami
DLo, Rui, Vando to PHX

:)

That's actually not bad if someone kicks in a 1st rounder to PHX I can see it getting done.

The only issue I see is the Suns gave up multiple good players, one being especially desirable and something like 3-4 first round picks to get Durant so they may want more than that proposal.

They have their Vando role guy in O'Neal so they could want Reaves which might make the Lakers turn it down. I doubt they can get two firsts but they would sure want to push for that.

Would LA be happy in just getting Butler for shipping out DLo, Rui and Reaves plus would a first come from them? I think if the Heat are getting Durant they should supply a pick.

It only seems possible because of the friction both Durant and Butler have created in their respective situations, and the potential desperation of LAL to placate LeBron.

I think the Heat would see Durant as an clear upgrade over Butler offensively and wouldn't see them turning it down if they were pressed to cough up a pick.

It seems like something could be there to be worked out or it could just be fan forum fodder we are fantasy GMing about.

Not happening. Suns traded their entire future for him. The earliest they may move him will be after next season when he will have one year remaining and they will have to make a decision on his contract.

Everyone would be happy except Phx. Harden got us multiple firsts and expirings which is what PHX would want as an over-the-cap team not guys like Rui and Vando. You are looking at least three first-rounders for Durant.

I don't see this getting it done at all and that is if PHX makes him available which they won't.

Something to consider is the PHX medical staff helped KD have the healthiest season he has had in years. I don't know what dark arts they perform but they have been doing in for a very long time.

If he leaves, that magic might disappear and the team who gets him winds up with the oft injured player that he was before this past season.

The guy is almost two years older since then on a body now past 35 with even less time left on his contract. Just because one naive new owner with the disastrous Isiah Thomas whispering in his ear overpays doesn't mean everyone overpays for the depreciating asset from now on.

Yes, they would want to recoup their value but they also are faced with a guy who is a cupcake snake flake ready to ask out any moment. Beal's deal is immovable and Booker is their homegrown cornerstone, they have no way to improve the roster and dealing him may be the only way.

It may be the case they want to give it one more season with the new coach but to be quite honest, Bud aint no savior for what ails this team. There's only so much shuffling of deck chairs that can be done on this titanic mess, something has to change or it can get much worse.

They were actually pretty good this season to be quite fair but the west is only getting better and they are only getting older. In the east they might have a chance to make a run for the finals but in the west, I just don't see it, it's a gauntlet of great teams.

D Lo got traded straight up from The Nets for a younger Durant. You clearly just want nothing good to happen to the Lakers lol it's obvious

Durant has been checked out all season, this with being checked out after the trade last season...there's a reason why since he has left GS the teams he's been on churn through head coaches, he's a coach killer for whatever reason.

Sure, some team may pay a steep price for the name Durant but it would be another desperate and dumb one he won't want to go to. He'd pretty much only work if that franchise has ultimate stability and hierarchy, Miami is one of the few places that is the case.

Maybe the Heat cough up 2 for him and LA coughs up 1 for Butler, so that on the surface looks like they got draft capital in line with what they gave up. If they keep him they are fighting for play-in again next season, new coach or not.

I am saying teams are willing to give up three firsts now including for example the Sixers. Why should Phx settle for less just so Miami can move Butler and the Lakers can get help for Lebron?
