My favorite NBA Finals game1:
1. 1997 Bulls v Jazz
2. 2008 Celtics v Lakers
3. 1991 Bulls v Lakers

It's a real shame Pierce is getting so much media attention for this game over Ray Allen, IMO the 'heroes' of the game were KG and Allen, we all know how KG performed tonight with 24 and 13 but allen finished with 19 8, and 5 and hit a huge shot when pierce went out of the game and all the energy was out of the building.

He's still got game, but never gets the fame!

can anyone give Boston credit on their amazing job on Kobe tonight? or is it just Kobe missing shots? just pathetic

Pierce hardly missed a shot, he deserves extreme kudoz for his clutchness. Also for the inspiration he served.

For those who haven't heard, Jordan describes Mark Jackson is a "hot dog".

Yeah to start off 9-26 in game 1 is not a great sign. Looks like Boston will contain him like they did Lebron.

Paul Pierce trying to pull a heroic stunt. He just hit his funny bone, that's nothing...

I give Detroit credit in 2004 for great defense, as I give credit to Boston this year for great defense. Both these teams are the best of their year defensively.

Kobe has played the Celtics three times facing mostly one-on-one coverage, and has shot poorly all three times. This is not a aberration, but a trend.

Kobes supporting cast shot really well..they even cut down the lead when he was on the bench...I think an average game for Kobe whims them the game. His defense on Pierce when he switched to him in the 2nd half was bad, he was overhelping on others and leaving Pierce open.

That 4th quarter was horribly unclutch by both teams LOL, still great game..can't wait untilSunday.

Ray Allen deserves a lot of credit in this game. He was doing everything, including solid defense against Kobe, who he is supposedly overmatched with.

KG really brought it tonight, he set the tone in the beginning offensively and throughout the game defensively. Too bad he disappeared down the stretch, he couldn't buy a bucket in the fourth.

Great stuff from Pierce, all heart, Willis Reed style.

Kobe still has to prove he can dominate this Celtic defense.

like LeBron, Kobe is NOT gonna shoot badly EVERY game. The thing about Kobe is, I think he can get 30 on ANYONE, but these Celtics wings are going to do a good job I think. Ray is a pretty savvy defender, and does a nice job, he just got overpowered by JJ and Wally in the last two round. Kobe needs to post him...

Still, they did a great job of team D on Kobe, if he hits all those shots, hell what can you do, but you have to make him take tough shots, and they did.

Both team missed a lot of easy looks, probably from jitters.

looks like kobe's picking up right where he left of in his last trip to the the finals.

he'll probably get back on track, but it won't matter much if the lakers frontcourt guys are going to let old ass PJ brown come in and be a factor.

He did shoot a similar % over the entire 5 game series the last time he was in the finals, scoring 30 with that type of efficiency guarantees a Boston win. But I think he will be better, he took way too many contested jumpers tonight.

Anyone got a clip of KG's missed alley oop?? I was shocked at how high he got, I want to see the close up slow motion view again...

Excellent first game and I expect more of the same the rest of the way.

PJ Brown was boxing people out, getting some boards, playing defense.. using his size and experience

That's what he's always done and is fundamentally sound there, you can be old and still be effective there.

See Charles Oakley, Dikembe Mutombo, Cliff Robinson
