I'm so glad the Celtics have ironmen like Tatum and Brown, rather than players like Butler that admit that they coast through the regular season, get injured before the playoffs because they're not tough enough, and then talk **** like a loser after the fact about how different it would have been if they played. Talk about soft.

yeah, you guys have been blessed with those two. Sucks that Tatum got injured Game 7 versus the Heat because they probably pull off the first 0-3 comeback in playoff history if he doesn't and would probably have been favored versus the Nuggets in the Finals.

How is this their fault though?

Amazing that fans don’t realize that conditioning/toughness plays a part in being a great player/team.

It's wild how much the East collapsed due to injury this year.

Boston was probably the only elite contender out East, but at one point that second tier looked super competitive. Then injuries to Giannis, Butler, Embiid, Randle, OG, Mitch, Allen, Mitchell completely decimated what were supposed to be the 2nd-5th best team in the East. Indiana and Orlando were/are the only relatively healthy teams in the East playoffs, as even Boston has Porzingis out.

I think the point about the west being more competitive is valid (obviously). Luck and injuries? nahh. They made their own luck with 64 regular season wins and their star players’ key attributes being durability/availability (Porzingis was a calculated risk).

That's what I was thinking as well... They didn't choose their opponents. It's not Boston's fault that only JV type teams are left in the East.

No one will remember the competition if they get the chip, which is a big if.

Nah. I don't think anyone was stopping the Nuggets last season.

I don't know about the easiest. But I do find this series to be boring to watch.

Not their fault.

You can only play who is in front of you.

Its just a historically bad NBA right right now, but nothing you can really do, until we get another influx of talent.

Maybe when we have the 2 expansion teams, they go to the West and then we get either Minny or the Grizzlies moved to the East? That ought to balance things somewhat....

Even if you believe this is "easy", the Finals sure as hell won't be and if BOS were to win it will have been well deserved. Winning championships are never easy.....even the KD Warriors titles were legit ones.....boring & unimpressive but legit nonetheless.

This is unfortunately the case for many Sports teams in Tournaments. Teams that cruise to the final have a hard time, against the team, that survived a massacre on the road to the final. Resting is fine and all, but the teams that are getting acclimated to the competitive intensity, will give their all in the finals aswell, while the team that has an easier road, will struggle to adjust in that short time, while not have been challenged in the prior rounds.

Eh.

If they end up playing the Knicks in the ECF, they will more than likely be a very annoying opponent to play against.

The Celtics have the most pressure to win a title this year. Considering how depleted the competition became, there is very little excuse for them not being ready to beat anyone left in the West.

Yep. Anything short of the Finals is a disaster and I was saying this prior to the playoffs when additional injuries hit.

Yeah, thought about this as well. You want a little adversity to prepare you.

It's not a historically bad NBA at all. That is beyond nonsense. We have enormous talent in the league.
