Is he actually definitely out for the season or are the Knicks just saying he is to get the DPE? The timeline of the report going from 8 weeks to saying out for the year and applying for the DPE is fishy.

Rumor is that there are screws involved, but the Knicks haven't talked as usual, so who knows. Maybe they decided better safe than sorry. It all gets determined by if the team and then the league doctors agree that the player is more likely to miss the rest of the season than not. I don't know if they factor in individual health/biology, history, size, playing style, etc but it'd think probably
