A healthy Bucks team would have been the only real test for the Celtics and now they're out.
The Celtics are already in the Finals (but they can't think that of course because that's just asking for an upset)

Obi Toppin and TJ McConnell were sensational for us so they deserve all the love and praise that they're gonna get for this game. They won this game for us, point blank. Obi was the one that gave us the lead early and McConnell was the one that got us the separation we needed in the 4th.

But I also want to give Andrew Nembhard and Ben Sheppard their flowers. Nembhard is a 2nd year player that we picked right at the top of the second round (pick #31). Sheppard is a rookie that we picked in the late 1st (pick #26). Their roles are slightly different (Nembhard is a starter and has more on-ball duties while Sheppard comes off the bench and generally plays off the ball) but they are both relied on to bring defense, physicality and shooting at the guard spots and often tasked with guarding players bigger than them. Both of them showed tremendous poise in their first playoff appearance and they deserve credit for it.

Just got in. Missed this one.

Congratulations to the Pacers. Huge hump overcome for a young team.

Doc rode that starting group like a rented mule. Basically went with a 6-man lineup. He has a built in excuse for the outcome what with Giannis out.

Even with Dame back, young Pacers got a taste of PO victory and quickly settled into themselves and never looked back.

Coincidentally 2 years of unhealthy Giannis come postseason time as well. Middleton’s fall off has also been rather drastic and rather than get younger and more athletic by casting off the aging Holiday, they went the other direction, getting both smaller, less athletic, AND older with the gigantic Dame deal.

The truth is it’s a litany of factors, but a healthy Giannis very likely wins them this series. And it’ll be under a microscope all summer, but the truth is they can’t do much except hope both Dame and Giannis are healthy at the right time next year.

Many teams (Philly, LAC, Miami, Milwaukee this year, in previous years, GS, LAL, DEN, etc.) find themselves in this position. It’s a painful loss to sit on all summer but there aren’t many moves to be made, just to get healthy and trust t you’ll give it a better shot then.

I disagree. Dame can still be that guy. But the Bucks lost their identity trading Jrue. They didn't need to trade for Dame. I'm glad they did for sure, but they didn't need him. As a result, you'll probably see Dame ask out to Miami for the 2nd straight year.
