I assure you the refs are neither helping the Cavs or the Magic this series. Just like the NBA and everyone else, they dont care about this series and dont give a **** who wins

I was thinking: If the Cavs don't pull this out in Orlando, and it goes Game 7, and Orlando guts out a W in Cleveland, will Mitchell make the decision to not sign the extension right there? My gut is telling me despite what happens in this series, and potentially in the 2nd round, Mitchell has played his last season as a Cavalier.

If the Cavs win this series, and somehow upset the Celtics in the second round, Mitchell is going to extend. I agree that a first-round W isn't determinative, but only 4 teams in the entire NBA get to the conference finals and the Cavs are a young team.

I would say he most likely doesn't extend for the 2nd summer in a row but time will tell.

Silver: Unfortunately due to miscommunication, league office have forgotten to send out a officiating crew to Friday's game. The game will proceed as usual using the honour system. The NBAs replay center is still on standby to resolve any dispute that may occur.

For those of you interested in blaming the refs for whatever happens in game 6, you may want to stake your claim before the game gets rolling.

Here are the league assignments for game 6:

Marc Davis (#8)
Josh Tiven (#58)
Gediminas Petraitis (#50)
Ray Acosta (#54)

Surely there's a newer resource, but I did find an article from 2019 that said Tiven and Petraitis were refs who frequently favored the away team. According to recent data, Petraitis still seems to end up ref'ing games where the visiting team wins.

I'm just giving people a chance to start blaming the ref assignment now rather than waiting to see the result. If the league was trying to force this series to a game 7, this doesn't seem like how they'd go about, but it's open for debate.

No crap, because the Magic currently have a 34.8 net rating at home due to the 2 blowouts lol

Magic are a -8.4 net rating on the road.

+34.8? Sure sounds like the Cavs will need all the help they can get to beat the Magic in Orlando.

I mean, blowouts obviously skew things but that guy has been spewing how ORL is the better team, i just strongly disagree.

Bill Simmons has been spewing it on his podcast, and I agree with him. I think it was a good move for the Cavs to tank to face a young team wasn't ready for those first 2 games.

Yeah, since Bill Simmons is a guy you want to align with. Massive eye roll.

The biggest game the Magic have played in over a decade. Do they extend their season or does Cleveland finish them off?

Jarrett Allen and Gary Harris both ruled out for tonights game. Big loss for Cleveland obviously but they've proven they can beat Orlando without him. It will be interesting to see what kind of an impact Harris being out has on the Magic though. From my understanding, Isaac will be in the starting lineup to create a bigger lineup. Speaking of lineup changes, Marcus Morris will now be starting at the four for Cleveland.

Very interested to see how this all plays out.
