Basically a #3 star on a good team pretending to be a franchise player and getting paid like one

One thing I will agree with, he did make the season about chasing the supermax once he had the injury, and it hurt the Pacers until Siakam came. It seemed like Hali didn't even care as much about team performance as long as he made 65 game threshold. He will probably squeak in as 3rd team and get his contract bumped up due to it.

It was hard to even notice him on the court at times last night.

He's clearly hobbled right now, so if these playoffs are your first time watching him then you're probably going to be underwhelmed. Even still, he had several "wow," passes last night.

Not sure what to think tbh…they say he’s been playing through injury since ASB but that’s a hella long time to play hurt so I’m just of the mind that we’ll see next season.

He has no offensive bag. Even the games he “goes off” in and scores more than a whopping 20 points, it’s only when his ugly ass 3 is falling.

Hes a good point guard but he should never be a top 3 scoring option on a serious team

It’s astonishing the excuses that get made for this fake azz all star who consistently folds down the stretch. The entire basketball world owes wally szczerbiak a big apology.

Could see the warning signs when he was on team USA. Guy has such limited moves. People here have been dying to elevate this guy for ever, because of some advanced formulas or something. Guy gets the deer in the headlights look bad. Even when he hit the game winner vs. the shorthanded bucks, he was awful as a closer leading up to the game winner.

When there are so much money at stake I don't see many people behaving differently. We are talking 40 freaking million dollars here. That's the difference between a normal max and a supermax.

The really dumb rule is tying the supermax to making an All-NBA team.

Lucky for Pacers fans, his getting the supermax means one less solid rotational role player for the next four years...

He better not make All-NBA. His play did not warrant it. If it did, fine whatever, but he would be taking a spot from someone more deserving. His play did not warrant being considered one of the top 15 players in the league.

Blame the NBA's knee jerk reaction to KD leaving OKC for the Super MAX rule. Dumbest thing ever.

Yeah, I agree with

1. His choice to go for supermax. Not the wisest decision when your performance clearly falls off a cliff due to trying to play through it.
2. He hit game 65 on 4/5. First playoff game was on 4/21, so he could've rested for 2+ weeks to improve the hammy, but...
3. His team might not have even made the playoffs had he not played through it. They would've been in the playin and anything's possible in single game scenarios.

If a two week hamstring strain around new years can derail a guy for this long, that's a problem if you rely on them to be a superstar. Those little injuries are common, especially for him. He looks to be moving fine, and has for a while.

The new Ben Simmons. Hali is the lead ball handler. There is no one aside from Siakam that he needed to compete with for shots. And yet he only managed 6 points.

Thank God he won't get a supermax. That would have been the worst contract in the league

Yeah, it's really sad where is now compared to where he was in the first half of the season. I really hope he can get back to that player next year and this isn't a Victor Oladipo situation.
