I'm normally the first to pile on and make fun of the sixers. They shouldn't feel ashamed about this loss, they never gave up. Even in this game, they had several opportunities to give up but they kept coming back. Role guys like Oubre and Batum were awesome and Maxey almost willed the team to victory again.

I'm not sure where they go from here. Embiid is obviously a great player (albeit overrated) and Maxey is a rising star but you can't count on Embiid in the playoffs. Either he's hurt or he plays really poorly and blames an injury afterwards. It's happened literally every season. I know they want chase Paul George but why would he leave the uncertainty of Kawhi to team up with the uncertainty of Embiid?

It was a home game for all the Nova boys.
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Yesterday I was lying; today I'm telling the truth.

They should've gone after Siakam. He may not be a great shooter or rebounder, but a Maxey-Siakam 2 man game could've carried them through the non-Embiid minutes and helped them not crash as hard when he went down. Ultimately they need to find a way to ease his burden to make sure they don't wear him out before the playoffs even start, so if I'm Morey I'm probably harassing LeBron to come to Philly.

Philly has room it is possible they still go after Siakim. They can also trade into their cap and get someone. They do need someone though and more reliable depth.

Great series. Didn't go our way. I'll be rooting for the Nova Knicks the rest of the playoffs, even if I'm skeptical of their chances, even if I hate your fans (partially because our fan bases our so similar, and we're obnoxious)

I suppose it could still happen, but I doubt Siakam leaves Indy. I suspect that trade was made knowing he’d re-sign with them.

I like Perk lol. Yes sometimes he says things just to stir the pot because that’s his on screen role, but he’s fun and often has a point, even when he’s taking it way too far.

Same. The Knicks for me now since they have the best chance of beating Boston - no offence to the other teams. Anybody but Boston. 8-)

From the email NBA.com sent me today...

Jalen Brunson’s performance in this series – 35.5 ppg (1st in 2024 Playoffs), 9.0 apg (3rd) and 4.5 rpg, three straight 40+ point games to close the series – put him in elite company in NBA Playoff history.

Let’s break it down:

40+ Point Streak: Brunson is the 7th player in NBA history with three consecutive 40+ point Playoff games, joining:
Jamal Murray (2020)
Allen Iverson (2001)
Michael Jordan (1989, 1990, 1993)
Bernard King (1984)
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1977)
Jerry West (1965)

35/5 Streak: Brunson is the 3rd player with four consecutive Playoff games of 35+ points and 5+ assists in a single postseason, joining:
LeBron James (2009)
Michael Jordan (1989, 1990)

Image

40/10 Clincher: Brunson is the 4th player in NBA Playoff history to record 40+ points and 10+ assists in a series-clinching win, joining:
Devin Booker (47 pts, 10 ast: 4/25/2023 vs. LAC First Round)
Chris Paul (41 pts, 10 ast: 5/8/2018 vs. UTA West Semis)
Michael Jordan (40 pts, 10 ast: 5/19/1989 vs. NYK East Semis)
35/10 x 3: Brunson joins Oscar Robertson as the only players in NBA history with three games of 35+ points and 10+ assists in a Playoff series.

165/40 Club: Brunson joins Russell Westbrook (2017) as the only players in NBA history to record 165+ points and 40+ assists over a four-game span in the Playoffs.

76ers fans are class. Hopefully, the Knicks can represent the Atlantic.

If they didn't they planned poorly because realistically they weren't poised to make a run this year or even likely a 2nd round.... Indy is also a very honorable organization so I am sure Siakim is likely happy considering they are winning and if they promised the bag he is going to get it.
