They have only one chance at a time to get a win and it is now or never. Losing should be 'not an option' for the Pels.
If they are non-competitive, Willie Green's seat gets hotter.
The fans are defeated. The Pelicans won't even have a home court advantage. I would be stunned if the Thunder don't win by 20. I hope I'm wrong, because I'd love to see another competitive game between these two teams.
Yeah, me too. A competitive game like G1... please! I want to see NOLA fight for advantages and not allow OKC to dictate as much, at least if they lose in that kind of effort they can be proud they put up a challenge. Take technicals, get fired up, just do anything else - there was way too much head-hanging from the Pelicans in G3 (same for Beal last night w/ PHX who was a mess with his play, but never looked confident at all).
Hey Chuck, on TNT Saturday the 'other' Chuck, Chuck Barkley said that they should send the team on a bus, not even a plane, to Galveston, TX, where they can sit on a beach but not swim in the dirty water. I would angry at that ****. Who wants to be eliminated from the playoffs with chubby pundits poking your ribs with a pointy diction stick ?
And I'm a Thunder fan primarily... I do agree with you, and OKC sweeps, but I have family in N'awlins and my cousin will be there at the her first PO game tonight, hoping she gets to see a playoff W, that stuff lasts.
If the Pelicans have pride, they will come out and give their best and try to prove Barkley and Shaq wrong. The problem (at least for me), is that without Zion, the Thunder have the unquestioned two best players in the series in Shai and JDub. Then when you couple with that, that Lu Dort is doing his best Tony Allen impression and turning Ingram into playoff Derozan, it's like you need to hope Herb, Trey and CJ hit 15 threes just to have a shot. Chet is also blocking everything at the rim. I mean, it just looks like one of those situations where the matchups are just too great. Pelicans would have to play their A game just to be in the ballgame.
Jalen Williams is a future all-star and All-NBA player (perhaps even more). Every time I watch him play, I see a guy with no weaknesses. Like not even selfishness, it's uncanny. If Grant Hill has any brains, this is a guy who needs to play on Team USA moving forward.
