Nuggets, I'm concerned

Post#1 » by Mir » Tue Apr 23, 2024 7:39 am

So, the Nuggets are the defending champions, the 2nd seed in a very tough conference, and they barely managed to beat a 7th seed (8th really) Lakers team, at home.

I'm honestly a bit disapointed by them, and I don't see them repeating this year.

Am I being too harsh?

Don't be. They're not going to lose a game in this first round.

Maybe, and would it be an accomplishment?
It's just the first round between a 2nd seed and the 7th seed, not a big deal for them.

Lakers have two top 10 players, games are going to be competitive. I wouldn't even be surprised if this went 6 or 7. The NBA will bend over backwards to keep Lebron in the playoffs as long as possible.

Nope. They're just going to go about their business. Lakers aren't going to make it easy or anything, but they just don't have the weapons.

Calling it the 7th seed is deceptive. It’s playoff Lebron and AD playing 40 mins a night now. That’s an accomplishment and it would be insane to sweep them again

Lakers would probably be up 2-0 against any team in the west not named the Nuggets. They are a team built for the payoffs and have 2 players that are still top 15 in the league in AD and Lebron who turn it up a notch in the playoffs.

It's actually good that they are being tested this early. Already the defending champs and you force them to play their A game? Good luck to the next teams in the next rounds (Mavericks, Thunder is my prediction).

Nice bait, but you overdid it with this right here: 'they barely managed to beat a 7th seed (8th really) Lakers team'.

Outisde of Jokic and MPJ, they shot 0/20 for three. And won.

The games in Denver were close, let's see if Lakers win game 3. IIRC last years games were rather close too. But definitely not an easy bye week (like Celtics).

you're too caught up in seeding.....Lakers could be the 8th seed and they would give the 1st seed OKC a run for their money, arguably would even beat them just because of playoff experience.

Sixers are another example of a 7th seed that is not truly a 7th seed...they could've been the 2nd/3rd seed if Embiid could stay healthy.

Lakers were also the 7th seed last season and they went to the WCF....the seeding just doesn't mean much.

Jamal Murray, KCP, Justin Holiday, Christian Braun, Aaron Gordon, Peyton Watson, and Reggie Jackson aren't going to combine to hit 0 3 pointers very often.

Just like D'Lo was bound to eventually hit some 3s, so are those guys. Gordon and Watson aren't good 3 point shooters but the other guys aren't likely to go a collective 0/16 very often.

I find their attitude starting games to be concerning. I also don’t trust many of their guys to make outside open shots. But the Lakers are way better than you think. I don’t think Lakers have the stamina to win throughout the playoffs but for one series, they are one of the tougher teams.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Yup closest 10 game losing streak to Denver ever.

Remember guys, the Lakers have them figured out.
