Funny. Last night I was 100% convinced it was a travel but after seeing the slow-mo, you could absolutely argue that the gather is sloppy and by the time he fully has control he only takes 2 steps.

Technically, Rudy Gobert is fully gathered once his right foot is planted, giving him the two extra steps.

Not a travel, even if he shows the grace of a newly born deer in the open court.

yea it's a gather and then one two. So, clean.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Looked clean to me. He's not moving with grace or speed but he gathers the ball (sloppily) and then takes two steps before taking the layup from 6 feet away.

Of course it's not a travel, there's no debate about it

All comes down to when the gather happens. Looks to me like he doesn’t gain control/stop dribbling until the right foot is down-ish. Plodding, but legal.

The pause makes it awkward.

Is there a rule that once you gather, you can’t stop? I’m guessing that you can’t gather, wait 1 second and then take two steps?

I watched it at .25 speed. By current NBA standards, a clear no call. But I still hate that it is enforced this way.

Not that I have any clue what a travel is anymore, but that sure looked like a travel to me.

some of you guys just aren't ready for the level of skill seen here. pause before the gather, the hesi and change of speed at every step with the fake euros. dude literally had two defenders so confused one of them didn't even know how he was supposed to play defense. absolutely clean.
