This isn’t 2K lol the Cavs are not trading away Garland when there’s a pretty damn good chance Mitchell leaves.

Regarding Garland and Trae, the Spurs would be foolish to trade for either right now. Trae has serious flaws and has been a toxic presence in Atlanta. Garland is fine, but has struggled since Mitchell's arrival. Either are hardly worth the max they're being paid.

SA should focus on drafting well and placing high quality role players around Wemby. If the team makes significant improvement this year then they could focus on making a big trade the following year or two. Preferably for someone who isn't a sieve on defense. Imagine how amazing they'd be with a pg who could play some defense!

Tre Jones is a dogged defender.

Sochan, failed PG experiment and all, can guard 1-4 well (better vs. bigger players, less so vs. quicker ones).

Wesley is a good defender as well.

Our issue is floor spacers what with being third worst in 3s efficiency this season. Tre and Sochan have improved but up to average efficiency from 3 now. Wesley is still woeful.

Graham is not a long term solution.

And while Tre is a valuable player, he has limitations being 6'1". Easily exploitable even if he's a good overall defender.

We'll be looking to upgrade at 1 and 3, the latter *for sure*. Like even if we were to start Tre Jones again next season right from the beginning (with whom there's already good team chemistry), having an actual starting level 3 will do wonders for us.

Just looking at how the Spurs played this year, and what Victor projects to being, they don't need a PG like either of those guys. Ideally they should be looking for their own Jamal Murray, someone that is good on and off the ball and has good size. They should be looking to maximize Victors defense with a lot of size & versatility on the perimeter, and on offense he is going to be a hub like Jokic / Sabonis where you have him bringing the ball up and running offense from the top of the key or the elbows, he's going to have the ball a lot. A combo guard with size is what they should be looking for whether in the draft or free agency in the next 2 years.

Cavs won't trade Garland for Spurs scrubs. Spurs doesn't have any interesting asset.

Garland was fine in his first year with Mitchell, still averaged 21/8. Again, this has been a per year for him no doubt, but in large part due to injuries.

Good god, why can't people have a little patience?

Mortgaging Wemby's near term development and the Spurs' future on the likes of Trae, Garland, and Lamelo is sickening to me. A bunch of quarter-billion-dollar babies.

Make actual good moves. You'd be better off drafting blind and developing players than getting flawed near-finished products. Give Tre Jones a full year while you figure things out--the improvements there were off the charts.

Why not trade for Durant?
