Have we entered a new era?

Read on Twitter
** Embiid is the only MVP in NBA history to never make a conference final
** Philly won multiple playoff games without MVP Embiid
** Luka made the playoffs without Brunson
** LeBron missed the playoffs with Davis
** Steph missed the playoffs with Klay

Yes. If Jeter had performed up to his benchmark during the 2004 season then Giambi would have played differently. Ipso facto, we are entering a different situation. For better or worse. To be known by all is clinching they say, but whodunnits rarely make do so  idk?

I think the new era started in 21 because in 10 years time i think we will look back at this time as the Jokic-Giannis-Luka time

I mean its 2024 now.

So much time has passed and players/teams age out. It was bound to happen.

Look at the '80s for instance. Pretty much all Celtics/Showtime Lakers. Deep into the 90s those teams and players past phased out.

Crazy, Jokic could be the only player with either MVP or Finals MVP stand after the first round, as Embiid and Giannis' teams are expected to lose, whereas Harden/Westbrook/Kawhi's clippers are tied at 2-2 and might not make it.

The 'New Era' started over a year ago.

This would be an NBA historically unique case!

I mean the old era teams simply just need a few trades to give them a chance to upset the Prime Nuggets and Celtics for atleast 3 yrs, so no it's not over until 2026-27

Warriors, Lakers can actually get all those players together in one team, but only if they don't care about the Salary penalty.

LeBron and Durant can Join Warriors if they have the balls to blow up the core and get ride of CP3/Wiggins.

Curry, Kuminga, Durant, LeBron, Draymond is a real contender with basic role players off the bench

We are in the midst of a new era. We've entered it like 3 years ago and I think both Giannis and Jokic both winning b2b MVPs and an FMVP each solidifies it.

The new era began right before Covid happened. The Warriors 2022 chip muddies the waters a bit, but the oldies are done. The issue is the media isn't done with them because some fans are still obsessed with their faves.

When the first team all-NBA candidates look like this: Jokic (still alive), Giannis (hurt), Luka (still alive), Shai (still alive), Tatum (still alive), Brunson (still alive), Edwards (still alive); hard not to see a dawning of a new era.

And lakers, Suns and Warriors won't be any better next season.

Okc, wolves and nuggets would clearly be top 3 teams in the West, in the next few years at least.
