Wow that would be a mistake for Miami imo.
I assume that’s an opt in and extend so woul take him through age 38…. Yikes.

if they want to keep Butler, they need to make a trade to improve the roster. They are weird team to evaluate since they have made the finals recently but i think both were fairly lucky runs since they weren't particularly competitive in the finals (either time).

If the plan is to continue build around Butler, they need to put everything on the table, including Bam.

They also lost in game 7 of the ECF in-between those finals by a razor thin margin. Basically if the league doesn't go back and take away a Strus 3 like 4 minutes after the fact or Butler makes his 3 at the end and that's likely 3 finals recently. The Lakers finals both Bam and Dragic were hurt.

In general I tend to agree since they need more size and scoring and always seem to run into injuries, honestly probably somewhat because of the smallball imo. Butler especially now needs another star who can score beside him, Herro clearly ain't gonna be it. Every finals run involves some luck, so it seems pretty dismissive for people to claim that against the Heat's accomplishments. But I do get it, on paper they don't look like they should of been in any finals lol. The fact remains however, that the Heat have 39 playoff wins in the last 5 years which is only 1 less than the Celtics have for the most in the league over that span.

It's time to go all in with Butler or move on, they should of went all in the last few years and just never did manage causing Heat fans massive amounts of frustration lol.

I'd like to see them fold as a franchise

This iteration of Miami is done. Butler wanting an extension while being a foul hunting part-time player is laughable. For once the Heat need to put their foot down and have these dudes play out their contracts. 97 million combined for Butler, Herro and Duncan Robinson just isn't going to cut it. Especially if emoJim is just gonna go through the motions until playoff time.

The whole process needs to get reworked. Home Court advantage still matters in this league. Get out of the damn play-in.

Hard for me to say anything meaning for here because I'd literally rather let Riley & Spo make the decisions than myself.

They aren't likely to win a chip any time soon, but I think they're fine being what they are and it's only a question of how and when they'll start taking primacy away from Jimmy.
