A Conglomeration Of Post Mortems!

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Thu May 2, 2024 8:49 pm

Hey good pals. I got a request for a stickied thread with links to all the Post Mortems since they are kinda getting lost in the shuffle. So here it is!

ElectricMayhem has done an amazing job with these in recent seasons (thanks EM!), but isn't able to do them anymore. So the mods have been doing them this year.

We made threads for all the teams that were eliminated in the Play-in or First Round but we did not go back and make threads for all the other lottery teams. If someone wants to make a Post Mortem for any of those teams feel free to use the other threads as a template and make a thread.

Anyway... here are the links to all the current post mortems. I will add to the list as more teams have their season end.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Orlando Magic

Los Angeles Clippers

Philidelphia 76ers

Milwaukee Bucks

Miami Heat

Los Angeles Lakers

Phoenix Suns

New Orleans Pelicans

Sacramento Kings

Golden State Warriors

Chicago Bulls

Atlanta Hawks

I thought they were about to combine them all but instead they did something wonderful.

Maybe the Pelicans because they have the most assets to try and trade in order to improve their team.

On this list?

I think Kings or/and Pels? They are both younger teams. Good coaches, FO. Assets, etc

Kings (younger, up and coming) are in the Pacific Division surrounded by aging, older, declining teams (GSW, Lakers, Suns, Clips). Also, one of them (Lakers) might end up with another coaching change again. So all of this bodes well for Sacramento.

Pels a lil more challenging. In the Southwest Division. Mavs, Grizz. And other young, up and coming teams like Rockets, Spurs.

The East teams is a toss up with Hawks and Heat. They can make tweaks and improvements, assets. But a lil challenging due to Southeast Division (Surging Magic and Hornets if they get right and healthy). Wiz in for a long rebuild.

Bulls are kinda stuck on a treadmill with really no sense of direction. And they play in a tuff Central Division (Bucks, Pacers, Cavs). Pistons are rebuilding.

Bucks would be middle or last.

Aging team.

Weird FO moves (firing coaches left and right) etc.

Crap sorry guys I added Bucks to the poll and it reset the whole thing. So now you have to vote again.

(I put that asterisk as the final poll option so I can change it to a team later without the poll resting again. Adding a whole new option resets it but editing an option doesn't.)

Heat have a decent future Bam, Herro, Jaquez, etc and Jimmy still has time in him...they just need to start gaining real assets and not relying on these undrafted guys figuring it out

Pelicans; have the young core and the assets to trade and make this team better. Chemistry was not there for them. Ingram-Trey-Herbert as forwards, Jonas and Zion as bigs. These are not complementary pieces and you are trying to play without a readl point guard. Even though I am a big Ingram believer, his credit runs out for me. Trading him for a PG, put CJ on his original position, try to find a Myles Turner, Brook Lopez, Vucjevic kind of strech 5. Here you have the copycat of Bucks.

Zion's career did not start well due to injuries, we didn't see him in the playoffs yet but you already gambled on him when you gave the max contract. Give him more shooters, more space down the paint to operate, manage the load, pray for his health.
