Getting out of the first round isn't that crazy. Kyrie did that on that Celtics team too lol. As the clear #1.

put prime lebron on these knicks and they gonna be in the finals pretty easily, im fairly certain about that. then we can make a fair comparision. we have 0 evidence of kyrie being able to carry a team like brunson does. besides brunson is just miles ahead when it comes to leadership. that alone makes him better in my opinion.

but if we just talk about, if this season is better than any season from kyrie i am fine with admitting every season that ends in a ring could be seen as better. im just saying its not that easy to compare, especially when the season isnt over yet.

Kyrie won a championship, Dame went to the WCF which was a lot tougher than the East.

Kyrie won a championship as a 2nd option. As a #1 option he failed to make the playoffs in Cleveland and then took a Boston team that made it to an ECF while he was injured ('18) and lost with them in round 2 ('19)...so Brunson has already had as much success as Irving as a #1 option, despite having less help.

Dame has that WCF run as his team's #1...but Jalen has the chance to match that if we beat Indiana, and if you wanna say that beating the Pacers isn't that impressive, I'd argue it's more impressive than beating the 2019 Thunder like Dame did in round 1.

I'll totally concede that the '19 Nuggets were a tougher opponent than the '24 76ers, but both teams featured MVP-caliber Centers, Allstar-level PGs, and supporting casts that still need(ed) work...and both runs are likely to end at the hands of an all-time great regular season team.

Comparing him to PRIME Lillard? A season of PRIME Lillard is like top 5-10 in NBA history. What the heck?! Comparing a guy not making the max and an after thought to Dallas?!

That being said, I am THOROUGHLY impressed by Jalen Brunson. I've become a HUGE HUGE fan.

As a Raptors fan, I am saw a lot of Fred VanVleet play, and I can say without a shadow of a doubt, that Fred is a poor mans Brunson. This guy made shot after shot against an actual good Philly defense.

Nick Nurse game plans against the opponents best player. His style of defense is always to hone in on that one guy and shut him down. And Brunson scored 40's.

The bolded is silly, but Jalen is doing something Kyrie never could. Now Kyrie did something that Jalen hasn't been able to...win a ring as the #2, but I'd say what Jalen is doing is even more impressive and I don't think it's a stretch to suggest that if the Mavs had paid Jalen what he was worth, he would've matched Kyrie's achievement eventually.

It’s been 2 years since then. Brunson has gotten better. And is currently better than Kyrie was in that 15-16 season. No doubt he would’ve been able to do that next to LeBron.
