Everyone in here is going to want Luka, Jokic, AD, Shai etc lmao but the reality is Joel is a gamble with his health moving forward.

George for Embiid
Draymond/Wiggins for Joel
Durant for Joel
DLo/Reaves/Rui/Vando for Joel
Bam/Robinson for Joel
Lillard for Joel

There's plenty options and teams that would be interested

How many decades of picks are the Lakers adding to that platter of stuff?

Take all of them

Lakers want to win now

The hurdle for the Lakers (and pretty much everyone) is that Joel is not only under contract & a phenomenal player but he is also loved in Philly so the fans would go **** and rightly so

I doubt that they would even consider trading him unless his body is completely broken down and everyone knows that it’s time to move on

Sixers don't even have fans in their own stadium
They wouldn't care and would forget once they make the playoffs again

I take back what I said as I wasn't aware of Philly's cap situation going into next year. It's not like they're the Suns who are royally **** with their cap because they're paying 3 dudes who don't fit together 150 million. Maxey and Embiid can fit together, they just need a consistent third guy who can be an equalizer when those to two guys don't have. They sign a guy like that, fill out the rest of the roster by retaining some pieces like Oubre, Batum, and Hield and they can definitely bounce back next year.

Miami Shaq?

Moses Malone?

Yeah there are examples. Russ in 2019 was another we brought up.

But usually those are unique events with either

a) the superstar being a malcontent who desperately wants to leave (Shaq to Miami)
b) the superstar being washed and the team needing to rebuild (Shaq to Phoenix, Russ to Houston)
c) ownership blunders over contracts (Moses Malone, some of the Wilt trades)

Embiid is none of the 3.

He was clearly playing hurt and he still averaged 33 ppg this series. I mean pretty hard to put this on him.

He is hurt every playoffs.

and that makes him a fraud?

Didn't Batum announce his retirement from the NBA?

If Philly signs PG and gives Maxey the max, they'll have very much money to pay the other 13 players. The rest of the team is FA's. PG would be better off signing with Orlando. They'll have Franz, Banchero, Isaac, Carter Jr, and Suggs.

Get rid of Tobias asap.

Embiid even only 75% healthy with siakam would have got them to the nba finals this season smh.

I'd like to see them go after someone like trey murphy III this off season over pg who's already in his 30s.

Why do the Sixers need to add another star when the New York Jalen Brunson's just knocked them out of the playoffs?

Tobias Harris :D

And rightfully so

On topic: No, it's not the end because they have max cap space now to get a third star OR real depth around Maxey and Embiid.

With Maxey only getting better, I hope Embiid will go to a 2nd option in this team, more focussing on rebounding and D.

If the pieces around him are adequate (like the Knicks role players are great), it could still work out

But no more paying 39 million for a guy that averaged 9 points and 7 rebounds in 36 minutes in the play-offs
