The eliminated stars. Who's the most disappointing?
Lots of big name star players are eliminated in the first round.
Which one of them has been the most disappointing to you?
No Giannis because he completely missed the playoffs.

Clippers, By Default
No further analysis, I've never been this upset before to a team. No sacrifice, no identity, no leadership, nothing. They just wanted to be loved, respected and worshiped. The fact we didn't see a player ejection until Game 3 of the NBA Playoffs speaks volumes of the Clipper's skewed priorities: cosmetics over competition.

What do all of those players have in common?
Besides Devin (he's young).
Old, and/or injuries.
Oldest teams in the league: Bucks, GSW, Lakers, Suns, Clips, etc
Easy.

Kyrie Irving really is the last man standing from the early 2010's "Rat Pack" this year. Crazy.

Re: The eliminated stars. Who's the most disappointing?
Tobias Harris [unlisted] and Bradley Beal severely underperformed compared to their compensation.
Durant is the highest-accolade winning player that did not secure a win in the playoffs. Beal was bad, and Booker was pretty good overall despite losing some composure at time, but not as highly decorated as KD in his career.
Curry didn't make the playoffs and isn't listed here. A playoff run without him is quite rare...

Easy.
Booker is only 27 and has a pretty clean injury history.
But the rest of the options definitely fall in the category.

Just gonna address one option, but AD just put up 28/15/4/67fg% while anchoring the D and guarding the best player in the league.
Disappointing is definitely not how this lakers fan would ever label him. I don’t even know what more he could’ve be expected to do.

Re: The eliminated stars. Who's the most disappointing?
in a land of mediocrity, as thats what the nba currently is, the star should be able to lift his team
so basically almost EVERYONE ON THE LIST is a fail. even ad backed into a ring in a ridiculous abbreviated covid year but at least he did it
except for a few they are literally all novices at this "winning it all" thing
this is a big year,,,,all the old farts are DONE. a fewcan put up numbers but they can't sway a game
and btw, how is harden's exit "disappointing". what's DISAPPOINTING is gsw being pathetic and leaving with a whimper

Re: The eliminated stars. Who's the most disappointing?
Its a very good question, hard to answer, but I would lean towards Embiid. He is the guy who supposedly in his prime and his time should be now. Lots of guys on that list are older and most had their moment. Few others, like Beal and PG, while great, I have never considered them as good where expectation grants unberable. They were secondary stars, their team failed, whatever.

Why the hell are Lebron and AD on this list? They were monsters in every game of that series.

I think OP asks which elimination was most disappointing, not performance. AD and Lebron winning one play off game is disappointing.

Then why not put up teams? LeBron and AD werent the reason the Lakers lost.

Because he asks how disappointed we are these players gof bounced, not teams. I might not be disappointed Lakers in itself as a team is eliminated, but I could be disappointed Lebron is eliminated. The difference is quite clear.

Aren't they big name stars? Aren't they eliminated? Yes to both. And that's why they are included in this discussion.
If you don't feel disappointed by them, you do you. But maybe there's someone else that feels differently. You can't force them to think and feel a certain way.

I hate the guy and I enjoy his annual playoff chokes, but it's silly to say he's not a star.

People who depend on Playoff Kawhi in 2024 are setting themselves up for disappointment purposely. You've got to give up on that vision eventually.

Re: The eliminated stars. Who's the most disappointing?
My take is the new kids and prime stars are just better now. The big names did a good job they just have injuries, substandard support etc.
I don't think there's anybody that was expected to do much better. Clips always collapse in the playoffs due to injuries. Lakers can't beat Nuggets. Embiid can't make it out the second round.
No disappointments - just adherence to the expected levels these declining big name players are all at now.

Re: The eliminated stars. Who's the most disappointing?
AD and Bron probably shouldn’t be on the list.
Embiid is probably going to win. It should be Beal though considering his contract, although nobody really expected much from him.
