Between this and the Pat Bev thing, fans will defend anything their guy does. Really unsettling

Embiid needs to commit to this and just start wearing a luchador mask into visiting stadiums. Do pregame interviews where he trashes the other team, special intro music, smoke machine, wearing a cape. Do it!

Usher needs to move. He can take 3-4 steps forward, until the players leave. Let's not act like the Usher wasn't standing his ground because it was Embiid.

This guy would watch Embiid murder his family and then come on realgm with an excuse why it was ok, I swear to god.

Not sure how you defend this. It's embarrassing behavior. Joel acting like the guy doesn't even exist instead of simply asking him to move while he practices that shot. Props to the staff. When facing adversity, he didn't back down like Joel does. :)

I love how the bold guy is screaming watch yourself to the security guard, and Embiid just bumps him too.

Turned up the volume, and you can hear those guys saying things like "watch yourself" "why you bumpin into him?" to the security guard as he's getting blasted in the back.

It's an absolute bully move by multiple people on the Sixers, but I'll assume that they didn't just pick a random old guy to start group bullying. He was probably giving them crap on his own before that.

Wow. Great example of eyes of the beholder. Embiid is obviously practicing his corner shot, and security is obviously refusing to move a couple of feet to accommodate him, even when the coaches come out and ask him. Like fans are buying tickets to make sure he always stands in that spot. (Do you think security would enforce the same stand your ground for the home team? If so, someone needs to sit him down and re-explain the purpose of employment.)

Embiid is a pouty child and he’s acting classless here, but we know that about him. What’s really offensive are the coaches coming over and putting their hands on the usher trying to tell him to move. As if these assistant coaches are of more importance or value than the security guards at an arena, and as if they have the right to order him around. Again, though, not surprised by their behaviour. Philly breeds a culture of entitlement and arrogance in their organization.

Telling you this guy is an utter scumbag. The MVP media campaign, the flopping/diving into other players spaces, the dirty plays trying to injure others. He’s everything people complained about harden for but much worse

Listen to it more closely. They don't ask the usher to move, they ask him why he is bumping into Embiid after Joel clearly jumps into the man as he's looking the other way.

Tough to eye of the beholder that one :dontknow:

Embiid was in the wrong, there's no other way around it. This is fact. Whether the guard should be there or not, Embiid had no right to start bumping into an old man on purpose, one or both of them could get hurt because he refuses to ask politely for the man to move.

It's rich if you think an MVP with millions of dollars should interact with a security guard working there. Guard should know who Embiid is and GTFO. Instead of feeling lucky to be standing that close to someone like Embiid, he decides to injury bait so he can try and sue Embiid afterwards. Best case scenario he wanted to bait Embiid into asking him to move, but this is just a regular staff member and we shouldn't blame Embiid for not interacting with them.

Let's hope this usher didn't suffer any serious injuries from this, but he seemed to have been bumped very hard 3 times by Embiid's recklessness endangerment here. I'm not suggesting anything, but there seems like a reasonable case here for a lawsuit.

The security guard was already standing out of bounds when Embiid decided to jump into him. Why couldn’t he just ask him to move over? Instead the coaches came over and also started being dicks which made the guy double down on standing where he is likely supposed to be. Embiid then purposely jumped into him two more times. I don’t really see how else to interpret it. It’s just piss poor behavior.

Weirdest part of all this is Embiid is able to take contact and not "fall down like Doctors told him to" at the slightest contact

Also interesting that Embiid NEEDS to practice shots he won't take in the game (intentionally stepping out of bounds to get as close to the usher as possible, repeatedly, instead of from where he may actually shoot in-game...).

Bouncer got the last laugh, hope he waved to Embiid at the end of the game :)
