The Magic will have to look at the trade market with those listed options.

Hopefully it's something like 2 years, 40 million.

Doesn't even fit their timeline(Malik Monk would) but I hope they do it. Save the warriors from their own stupidity.

Re: Magic go star-chasing
A good offer to Monk is fine, but I'd rather they swing for younger players like a Jalen Green, Keyonte George, Josh Giddey, or Anfernee Simons - even if it means sending any picks they can to make it happen. Would be a shockwave to get Jalen Green. Simons might be gettable. Giddey could be an answer for playmaking and his fit in OKC is still debatable. George would be tough to pry from Ainge's grip but maybe Anthony Black gets it done.
Oh, and lol-worthy with Klay... stay away!

I've seen this franchise make some bad moves or had bad luck with drafts. Going after Klay is going to set them back. Forget about it.

I wonder if Klay has mutual interest in Orlando. He would be a good fit.

They gotta wait one more year before they sign a big star. See what Franz actually is after a disappointing shooting year from him. Throw big money for 1+1 team option at Monk and run it back.

That's true, they should still have pletny of $ to spend next year, esp if they plan for that. But their roster starts to get more expensive too--Franz and Suggs will be on their last year of rook deals next season so either will get extensions or have pretty big cap holds. And then that's that.

Re: Magic go star-chasing
I think they are realistically at least a year away from being to the point of making any kind of godfather offer for a "win now" star such as Booker.
Klay would be fine as a stop gap but I wouldn't offer him anything more than 2 years.
To me an obvious move might be trading Black for Keyonte George who they should've drafted last June. Of course they would now need to deal with Ainge, not to mention Weltman's ego might not be able to handle trading for the guy they passed on 2 times in last year's draft.

This would be fine. Orlando has to overpay, but two years is nothing. They won't have to extend their key guys during this window, so why not? Klay isn't the old Klay but he would be great fit with what they have going on.

Man Kyrie would be perfect for that team if they can wait a year.
Garland would be good if they want to try to send us a trade offer, but they wouldn't like the price.
Trae Young would be interesting too.

Would Klay/Suggs be a good backcourt? It looks like the magic are willing to give Suggs at point a try, but to me he is more of a two guard.

Re: Magic go star-chasing
I don't want most those guys, it's really not a very good set of options.
Unless, there's some sort of a budget deal or something. The key is to not sign a bad contract. If you can't get a good piece you kind of punt and may be use a little cap space on some short term contracts.
The last time Orlando really had a lot of space and went shopping they were incredibly stupid. They traded Oladipo, Ersan Ilyasova, and the rights to Domantas Sabonis for Ibaka! Think about that, they traded away the core of a contender for the fourth or fifth best player on the Thunder. One of their other biggest moves was signing Biyombo to what at the time was a pretty big contract.
He got 4 years and 72 million making him one of the bigger free agent signings, but why? Why would the Magic decide to try to build around Ibaka and Biyombo? So please for the sake of all that is holy, I just don't want the Orlando Magic doing something stupid that wastes their future. If there is no one good to sign then don't sign anyone.

They can take Lavine for free if we don't get any bad contracts in return.
I actually think he'd be a good fit their surrounded by defenders and ball handlers.

Tatum isn't going to sign in Orlando. But DWhite might prove to be too expensive for the Celts. I can see him being worth 35+ a year. Signing any of those guys just shows impatience. Don't blow your load yet.
