Timberwolves-Nuggets refs (Game 2)

Post#1 » by SUPERVILLAIN » Tue May 7, 2024 3:06 am

I have seen very mixed comments around social media. I won't say anything as I don't want to sway people's opinions.

Honestly, what do you think?

I think if you’re down by 26 at home at the end of the first half while the opposing team is missing their best defender, you’ve got other problems.

I think Malone and Murray should be ejected. Absolutely inexcusable behavior

If Murray doesn’t get suspended for G3 I don’t know what to think anymore. The game should have been stopped to figure out where that heat pack came from. This wasn’t some wine mom on the sideline throwing it out there

Nuggets have no excuses right now.

Jokic, MPJ and especially Murray are playing like ass.

To me he is the third best player in the NBA - Luka and Embiid are comfortably ahead of him.

It’s been kinda bad on both sides where it’s just not consistent as to what a foul is. That said, Nuggets are getting owned and it ain’t about the refs.

denver would be loosing either way, but refs have been super inconsistent. They are letting everything go, except when it comes to ANT, he still gets calls.

Wolves are insanely physical, so many potential fouls uncalled, If the refs lets them play that way consistently, they winning the chip.

Murray/Malone shouldn't be coming back after halftime.

That's not a thing, but Murray 100% deserves a suspension.

Nuggets are soft. Make plays, play harder, match the physicality of the other team and adjust to how the refs are reffing. Complaining solves nothing

Refs have nothing to do with this beatdown, now if your talking about the dumpster that was Knicks/Pacers game we can have an honest discussion.

While I think the result would be the same regardless, they are allowing a degree of physicality that is not typically allowed. Since Denver doesn’t play this style, it vastly favours the Wolves. But as I said, Nuggets weren’t winning this regardless.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

If the Lakers got these same calls, they would win every game too. So biased towards Minny.

I didn't see game 1 but tonight the refs have been a stinky F.

The refs have been fine. The Nuggets are just playing like trash. It's their own fault.

I like the way the game is being officiated but how was Murray not punished for throwing a heat pack onto the floor?

Few bad calls but refs aren't the reason Nuggets are down

A player threw a heat pack onto the court during play and there were no consequences lol. He’s still playing.

The Nuggets would have lost this game regardless. Minny was clearly the better team in this game.

That said, the reffing in the 1st half is some of the worst in the playoffs primarily because it was so inconsistent. The Nuggets were trying to read the refs minds and guessed wrong every time. The frustration was real from a usually composed team.

And if you've watched the Nuggets get down to teams before, you know that this is not how they generally react. The refs were lucky that their mismanagement of the game didn't end as badly as it could have.

I expect Minny to win this series but I'd prefer to see them win without the refs jobbing the other team as badly as they did today.

There is no conspiracy here. The NBA does not hate the Nuggets. The refs didn't put money on Minny. BUT everyone can have an off day on the job. The refs, like Denver, had a bad day. It happens. But pretending like it wasn't a bad day requires some serious mental gymnastics.

Totally agreed. Personally, I consider the first half as the worst officiating I have seen in recent times. The refs seriously f*cked the game. They were very, very inconsistent. So many missed calls that are usually called. Moreover, no tech given for Mike Malone. They were absolutely bad.

Not only wasn't the coached thrown out... not even a tech called.
