Minnesota was at #1 in the Western Conference a lot of the season and when Kat got hurt they were 43-19, Denver was 42-19, and OKC was 42-19.

When KAT was hurt the Wolves went 12-6. They didn't fall apart, but probably would have won a couple more games with him.

They played Denver 3 games while KAT was hurt. Lost the first by 3, won by 13 at Denver, and then lost the last by 9.

If KAT doesn't get hurt the Wolves are the #1 seed in the Western Conference.

A bit of both. The Nuggets had the worst record of any West #1 seed in 4 decades last year and had a laughably easy road to the title. One of the weaker champions of the past decade, and they're not even fully healthy this time. You also won 14 more games this season, jumped 9 spots in defensive rating and 7 spots in offensive rating.

Dynasty talk is always ridiculous and people talking about it with a team that has only won one and yet to even begin their next playoff run was absurd.
