I hate suspensions but it should definitely be a big fine.

A big fine = no punishment. This was incredibly dangerous.

I get it and agree to an extent, but I do think a big enough fine is definitely a punishment. My problem is that a suspension is punishing more than just Murray and even the organization. It punishes everyone, including non-Nuggets fans who want to see both teams are their best. I just don't care for suspensions especially in the playoffs.

It's not a punishment; at the very worst it's a mild annoyance. And if all those people are getting punished by a suspension then it's Murray doling out the punishment, not anyone else. He chose to do something that could have resulted in a disastrous injury. That's just a really really bad take. You might as well say Flagrant 2's shouldn't result in ejections. It's the exact same logic.

Logically it's the same, but different in degree, which matters even by the examples you're citing. There's a reason why flagrant 1s don't result in ejections but flagrant 2s do, despite both being unnecessary and in many cases dangerous. Some personal fouls are dangerous too, but don't result in ejections or suspensions.

If you think suspension is warranted or necessary, I totally understand that position, I even agree it would be consistent with how the league usually handles these things. I just disagree with in principle. The idea that the NBA can't make a fine hurt bad enough to be a punishment just means we haven't seen hefty enough fines.

Ya he should get suspended. I mean there are multiple levels to this. The temper tantrum of throwing something on the court should’ve got him suspended. Then throw in that it was during a play and it was an object a player could’ve easily stepped on and slipped and injured himself.

Ya he should be suspended. Throw in the way he’s been playing all playoffs, if I was Denver I would give a “self imposed” suspension. But ya he should be suspended regardless. You can’t do this.
