Immature coaching move or smart decision?

It's always a risk, and a strategy where hindsight will come into play. For me, in a low scoring game, it seems like percentages would dictate that even if the guy makes 1 out of 2, it's a bad strategy.

As an OKC fan, I didn't care for it.

They gave Luka a much needed rest netween defensive possessions, I don't think it worled out well.for them...

I bet if it was a Wolves topic you'd have no problem with it.

Holmgren chasing you with his arms out like that is a genuinely terrifying sight. He looks like the slender man.

His arms have to be longer than most human legs.

He's a 50% free throw shooter, which is below the cur off point so it was a good strategy.

Pathetic, not competitive move for a young team that should have some dignity. As an aside, Dallas did one hell of a job drafting Lively and he’s going to be a really good center for a long time IMO.

It probably messes with the flow of the team hacking to stop the game and watch free throws.

We know in hindsight, it didn't work. Lively ended up making most of the FTs.

But more importantly, as the #1 seed playing against the #5 seed whose best player is injured, if this is your best defensive strategy to close out the games, then you have much bigger problems. All this tells me is maybe the coach doesn't trust their supposedly excellent defense to get stops.

Also, this hack a player thing needs to stop. It kills the game for the viewers.

I loved it. It backfired. But actually I think it's a bush league tactic, even when Shaq was the Hack-a.

Was bad from the moment it was implemented because the Thunder were not scoring on the other end. Slowed the game to a crawl as well, so they had no chance to get in transition and get easy baskets.

I think it was a smart decision. Lively is a poor free throw shooter and very young. There was a chance the moment would suddenly get too big for him like it did for Claxton a couple of years ago against the Celtics. Kidd actually took Lively out for a period while the Thunder were doing it and the Thunder immediately got several offensive rebound so he had to put him back in. Big props to Lively for keeping his composure.

I feel like the Hack-a-Whoever strategy never ends up working. Can't remember a game ever actually being won because of it

Coach should've Left Giddey in the 2nd half
Once they took him out... The thunder struggled the rest of the game.

Why bush league? Opponent can always take the guy out of the game.
