Has Kyrie rehabbed his image?

Post#1 » by ScrantonBulls » Sun May 12, 2024 5:17 pm

I find myself liking Kyrie lately. He seems like a great teammate, he's respectful to his opponents, he's respectful to reporters and gives well articulated answers. He's always got a smile on his face. Maybe he's always been like this but all the dumb stuff he did overshadowed it.

Tldr; Kyrie seems like a very likeable dude.

Maybe he wasn't the toxic one after all? Maybe it was the guy who keeps destroying franchises.

His off the court stuff was so far out there it overshadowed a lot. Far as I can tell he's always been a good teammate.

He was proven right about the vaccine mandate.

Only for those still trafficking in misinformation and conspiracy theories.

For the rest of us, no.

As to Kyrie, he has kept himself from repeating the dumb and offensive things he has said previously, so that’s been helpful to him.

And he does seem to on the court be at another level of maturation as a teammate and player.

Well tbf, in today's nba top 15 players who join new teams either win titles there or are said to have destroyed them. LeBron even recruited another top 10 player, won a title and still is being accused of destroying his current team. tldr: fans are never happy unless their team is winning titles or making the finals every year.

There’s nothing left to debate. The global data says statistically safe and effective at preventing deaths.

The anecdotes and supercuts try to paint a picture of something else.

Guess what has been shown to definitely give people myocarditis? Covid.

I hope they don’t keep it open because there’s been enough bad faith blathering already about vaccines.

This situation is a PERFECT EXAMPLE of why a lot of people dislike the media and have negative feelings towards the media. The media can push and control narratives to the public. If you ever disliked Kyrie over the past few years just ask yourself why?

What surprised me and I was not aware of how much other players, especially young players love him. Clearly, he has grown on how to handle the media.

He seems wiser and more mature than the Kyrie who ditched his team mid season, claimed he doesn't need a coach, I hope it stays like this...

There's no debating those people. They could watch an entire room full of people get the jab, die instantly, and their thought process would still be "well this is just anecdotal evidence, the global data says...."

Except that has literally never happened and never will. So keep making up straw men arguments to feel good about yourself

I do not traffic in those. I encouraged and encourage people to get the Covid vaccine if it's recommended by the CDC. However, I do not believe that it should be mandated by the government especially for someone in Kyrie's cohort. That was the issue with Kyrie.

Love how every Kyrie thread in the GB turns into a vaccine conspiracy debate

These people never give up.

As for Kyrie, he was a Diva in Cleveland, Boston, and Brooklyn. So far so good in Dallas but you can never know with this guy.

I was actually going to make a very similar post. I'm amazed at how much I find myself liking Kyrie these days for the first time since he left Cleveland. I definitely think he matured and I try to be fair to him because as a 40 year old, I've done a lot of dumb stuff in my 20s and 30s.

Also for those of you trying to make this about the vaccine, Kyrie did a lot of things that painted him as a bad teammate, imo, that had nothing to do with the vaccine.

Literally no information has come out since then that would change the risk/benefit of the vaccines
