Would the Lakers have beaten the Thunder in a potential 1-8?

Post#1 » by EmpireFalls » Tue May 14, 2024 1:58 am

Let’s say we just saw the 2-7 and 1-8 series as predicted.

Would LA have beaten Oklahoma City? Or not?

No lol
The Lakers got smoked in the first round, and would have lost easily to either Minnesota or OKC as well.
They just aren't a legit contender or even close.

The Lakers would be SO CLOSE to figuring out the Thunder.

Might have lost to the Kings, who the Lakers were swept by this season

Lakers were 3-1 against OKC this season, they simply did not have the big boys inside to stop AD and Lebron

Suns beat the Wolves 3-0 in regular season by a minimum 10 points and were swept in the playoffs.

Lakers weren’t stopping SGA or J-Dub. Sure AD has a monster series but he did against the Nuggets and they still lost in 5 with Murray having a horrible series.

Based on how tough they played Denver and their success during the regular season, I think they'd be slight favorites against OKC in hindsight. They lose to Dallas though.

No.

More fun to see them get beaten by OKC.

I don’t think anyone in that Thunder/Dallas matchup is beating Denver/Minny/LAL

More playoff revenue to justify spending more on the current roster... I dunno, it's something even though the end result doesn't change much lol.

Yes. Which is why it's funny how they tried to beat New Orleans instead of throwing that game.
