He was the only reason the Rockets didn't complete the 4th quarter choke job. Yao can only get the ball in the closing minutes of the 4th when Tracy is there to pull the double or triple team away from him. The he throws it down on Duncan when he gets the ball where he needs it, instead of silly turnovers. He also was the reason the Rockets again failed in their attempt to choke over the game to the Sonics. He came in and put the game out of reach.

Some people find reasons to hate: His stats were crap (but he was still the key player in getting the win) or his stats were good (but his team was underperforming because of that). If Tracy gives up his starter spot, he still deserves a bench role. The games he played without injury showed he's still one of the greatest wings in the game.
Plus, he's actually fun to watch.

not really he just always hated playing basketball cause he lost 9 family members and close friends in span of 2 years. tow years ago Charles barkley talk to him about that and he convinced him to play in the all star game in Houston.

Must be true, if it's a rumor you read on Hoopshype.

he gave up his starting spot not his all-star spot
that year all 5 starters yield their starting spot to MJ (T-Mac, Iverson, forgot the other two)
MJ took VC's instead so people can stop bashing about him
