Magic quote on Vince

Post#1 » by Kosta » Fri Jan 25, 2008 3:42 am

"Vince Carter, the knees are done, it's over, superstar, now regular player".

Barkley:"Couldn't have said it better. (Pause)"And I feel bad for Jason Kidd".

Watch him go off for 50 now...

jason kidd is the done one. chuck and magic are so in love with him, they let go the fact that the dude turns it over way too much and can't shoot to save his life - yeah the nets really want to give him an extension.

Carter is done. I agree with Magic 100%. He never lived up to his potential and now hes declining...fast.

Kidd is the one that is done, Vince is way better than him but everyone loves Kidd so they just scapegoat everything on Vince. Vince is the least selfish player on the Nets.

Carter's numbers are virtually identical to the ones he posted last year.

Well his scoring is down obviously that's because he's declined not because he's taking 3 less shots per game...

That's probably because you choose to see what you want to see. Carter is the best Net scorer bar none. VC is still the one getting doubled every game, he's still the one with the best defender on him, he still gets more attention than any other Net player.

RJ's taking advantage of this, he gets alot of easy/assisted baskets as a result.

The thing is, he wasn't really pointing to his numbers, but more so his lost ability of being to explode to the rim and get guys in foul trouble. All he said is that Vince wasn't a superstar anymore. And I think even you can agree on that.

He's still a good player, just not great.

You realize VC is playing hurt right? He injured his ankle early in the season and reaggravated it a few times. He has had a few highlight dunks this year but not as many as usual.

Once he gets some time off (this offseason probably) he should get some of his explosiveness back. Did you see RJ when he first came back from injury? Mcgrady? It isn't surprising.
