Do you now think Hedo Turkoglu should be an all star?

Post#1 » by MagicFan32 » Sun Jan 27, 2008 9:09 pm

Or do you still hold your pre conceived notion that he's still nothing more than a bench player?

If you reward teams for good records, which the NBA has been doing, then Hedo deserves to go. he's been money in 4th quarters all year and todays game vs Boston was just icing on the cake.

Just look at his numbers this week vs mostly tough teams.

Vs Portland, 20 pts 8 rbs 5 asts
VS Detroit 26/5/8
vs Memphis 26/4/5
vs Detroit 23/4/3
vs Boston 27/6/3

Whether you like him or not, he deserves to be in the discussion whereas a month of you many of you scoffed at the notion. Not many guys better in the clutch this year

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Hedo deserves to go...but so does Butler. I think that it may come down to those two and possibly Jamison. No surprise that I'd pick Hedo. He has totally outshined our 118 million dollar man.

Don't see what a 5 game stretch means. He's averaging 19, and 6. He's having a great year. But Butler Bosh, and Peirce deserve to go imo. His main comeitions is Jamison who's averaging 2 more points, and 4 more rebounds. Don't think Hedo deserves to go.

I still would take either Butler or Jamison, because of how the wizards have done without arenas. or Josh Smith. also, Paul Pierce deserves to go more than turk, imo.

No. the forwards going to the game are going in this order:

Bosh (Wish he could go as a center though)
Butler
Jamison
Pierce
Crash
Then its a toss up between Josh Smith, Richard Jefferson and Turkoglu

Nope no way. He's not better than Jamison or Butler.

As I've said before, he is in himself having a "allstar" year, but that doesnt automatically equate to a place on the allstar squad.

There are many players having a great year, so its tough to say who should and shouldnt go.

To even be considered for it I am pretty pleased, I'd be happy with people just recognising how well he is doing [which he is] and putting him in the conversation for it.

I dont see him going straight off, but maybe coming in via injury wildcard thing like Okur did [and J.Howard?] did last year; that could be a possilblity; though its never good to "wish" people in this way.

Hedo is having a great year and he is playing like an all-star...but he is not one.

I dont know how people can say "easily" no, he has the stats.. and is playing great too.. but I can't say he definitely deserves it over Jamison (Jefferson I think hes playing better than) but yeah.. its good hes gettin recognition

Damn, that would be cool to have 2 all-stars on the Magic. That hasn't happened since Shaq and Penny. Too bad Turk aint going. Maybe next year?

Turk is one of those guys who are on the bubble.

I wouldn't consider him cheated if he didn't make it, but if he did make it, someone else would be cheated.

Should he be an all-star? Not necessarily. Could he be an all-star? He's got a shot.

STARTERS:
PG: Kidd
SG: Wade
SF: Lebron
PF: KG
C: Howard

Bench: (7 reserves)
[LOCKS]
PF/C: Bosh
SF: Pierce
SF: Butler
PG: Billups

[WILDCARDS]:
SG: Rip OR Allen
PF/C: Jamison (because he's a big)
Last spot:
Turk, Shaq, Rasheed, Calderon, Z, Gerald Wallace, Josh Smith, Richard Jefferson

I'd say give that last spot to Turk.
