I think Roy deserved the selection (not more than Baron, though), but there's a ton of players who would do good in the All Star game.

Maybe (maybe) for the future. Give me Nash + Kobe now.

Yeah but it actually is a possibility.

Paul is already better than Nash has ever been.

Jesus, will you people stop acting like LeBron is the first person to ever play 30+ minutes in an all-star game? It happens all the time, and it really happened all the time in the old days...look:

86-87:

Moses: 35
Bird: 35
Magic: 34
Dr. J: 33
McHale: 30

87-88:

Magic: 39
Malone: 33
Bird: 32
Lafayeete Lever(I don't even remember this guy): 31
Dominique: 30

88-89:

MJ: 33
Isiah: 33
Stockton: 32

90-91:

MJ: 36
Barkley: 35
Ewing: 30
Malone: 31

91-92

MJ: 31

92-93

MJ: 36
Barkley: 34
Isiah: 32
Stockton: 31

93-94

Pippen: 31
Hakeem: 30

94-95:

Penny Hardaway: 31
Pippen: 30

I'm no LeBron apologist, I'm not even a Cavs fan, I'm just a realist. Now stop crying about LeBron playing 30+ minutes.

That is all.

All this Lebron hating needs to stop, he played phenomenal and he definitely deserved the MVP after that Dirk poster.

Well yeah, those players would be a good tandem (Kobe + Paul would be arguably better than nash as well), however, there is always that tiiiiiiiiny chance that a certain PG may be a FA in 09 when Roy's team happens to have some cap space

Hopefully they're still in NO, and don't mind going deep into luxury tax territory

I usually don't see that much CP3, but his defense was pretty good.

Kobe was getting some love by the members here on the 2007 all-star game:

Took me a while to dig it up but here is the 2007 All-star thread:
http://realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php? ... start=1008

Even B-Mac gave Kobe some love, when B-Mac does that you know Kobe is playing well

I normally give Kobe quite a bit of "love". Ive been a fan of his for a couple years now, after admittingly not being able to stand him for a rather long time. Kobe was amazing last year, and LeBron was amazing this year.

On a side note: The reaction to the all-star game makes me cringe thinking about how this place gets for the Olympics as well. Everyone is so concerned with their player getting accolades and stats that they go out of their way to rip on someone else's game to try to make their player better. They forget what the real reason games like that are played... to win! That drives me absolutely crazy come summer time. Team USA is a TEAM....

Great all-star weekend. To all those people claiming conspiracy and otherwise going out of your way to find something to be upset about... chill out, relax, its an all-star game and its meant for fun. Your own player doesnt have to be the leading scorer or win every competition, or win all the awards, etc.. for it to be fun.

I'm not going to go through the whole thread to see if anyone agrees with me but this game was boring IMO. Basketball is boring when the people are not competing. It's not exciting at all. Dunk here, shot there I can watch regular games for that which are more exciting cause they are contested more. No sense of pride, no competitive fire. Everyone just coasts until the 4th

Why didn't Kapono go on the ladder and hold the ball right in front of the rim? If he would have done that, Moon could have probably jumped from the tape.

I think you guys should lay off the hate. This game is for fun, young players tried harder than veterans and that made the game more entertaining. If no one cared or tried then why watch it at all.

And I wanted Kobe to shoot at least once 3pt left hand but I guess he worried too much about his stat :P

lol. I fell asleep halfway through the game. They really should make the all-star game mean something. It should determine which team as home court advantage in the finals.
