So if you're Sterling, you'd rather just let Sam rot on the Clippers and pay him the rest of his 07-08 salary in full? You wouldn't want to save a million dollars or more? You wouldn't want to please the agent of your team's superstar?

Oh, I didn't know this was a blog report. I can't trust this. I have to see official news from a newspaper or something of that sort. With that said, I hope the Celtics do get him. That is one of the missing pieces they need.

This isn't your typical blog: it's run by the Celtics Boston Globe writers and it's reliable. It's as good as a newspaper report.

Completely forgot.

So the team's biggest weakness, depth or lack thereof, suddenly turns out to be one of their strengths. Amazing.

Well it is a double edged sword. I can tell you that since Doc had been here he has been very loyal to vets playing them regardless of production and also at times has done worse with more options. We have a weird history of young players playing well immediately after the vet in front of them gets injured.

Boston has become a really deep team. As if they weren't already a force to reckon with. Now they have 4 guys who they know they can go to in the clutch.

It feels great too. The last few years when they've been one of the younger teams in the league I have looked at older teams and been jealous. Old players win!

As opposed to who may I ask? Are you telling me a bench of:

Sam Cassell
James Posey
Tony Allen
Eddie House
PJ Brown

Leon Powe
Glen Davis
Scot Pollard
Brian Scalabrine
Gabe Pruitt

isn't good enough?

With the addition of PJ Brown, Sam Cassel and Tony Allen recovered from his ACL tear the celts just became a serious contender.

Bench: Cassel, Tony Allen,Posey, Powe or Baby, Brown. sprinkle in House

That's a real bench and should pretty much put to end any arguments about how teams can make bad moves by lossing their bench lol.

Playoffs bench IMO: Cassel,Posey,Brown mostly IMO.

House/Tony Allen Powe/Baby will be used as needed.

Very exciting, I hope there are no chemistry issues, and I certainly don't expect any. The bench which I was slightly worried about seems to be in great shape.

Well Rondo will start and Tony Allen will be the backup Sg while House will lose minutes more than anyone. TA seems to be back to where he was last year physically, he's playing lockdown D and getting to the line alot considering his limited minutes. Its been a few years but people forget TA was a starter down the stretch of his rookie year on a division winning team, whenever he has been healthy he has proven that he is a legit starting SG so thats a nice weapon off the bench. The rotation now looks like this

Rondo/Cassell/House
R. Allen/T. Allen/House
Pierce/Posey/T. Allen
Garnett/Davis/Powe
Perkins/Brown/Pollard

That is a VERY balanced team and will be scary in the playoffs.

I was thinking maybe that Elgin Baylor (former Laker that lost to the Celtics 8 times in the finals i believe) didnt want to waive Cassell because he knew he would end up going to the Celtics and might help them win another championship... oh well
