Yeah but Bird had injury problems late in his career. Had Bird been healthy it would be a no brainer. Duncan is just so dependable. Both are great clutch players. I honestly think Duncan is the 4th best big man in NBA history behind Russell Wilt and Kareem.

And it's really hard to pick a top 5. Wilt, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Jordan? Do you leave out Russell?

Is there any question about this foul warranting an ejection?

He definitely wasn't going for the ball there, but it didn't look like he was trying to take off Rondo's head either. He just wrapped him up in mid-air. Definitely a flagrant 1... but I don't think it was bad enough for a flagrant 2 and subsequent ejection.

Although, the refs are being consistent. That hit wasn't any harder than the hit Haywood gave LeBron, and he got thrown out too.

I love this **** team. Diving for loose balls up 30+ in the second half. I don't think anybody else does that besides the Spurs.

I dont get why Salim Stoudemire can't get more PT on that team.. hes the only one on that team that can shoot other than JJ.

Well, one of the mods put up a Cavs vs. Celtics 2nd round thread before the end of Game 6, but I think now we can be sure that will be the matchup.

Bird had injury problems, but still put up numbers. And the Celtics were almost always in the mix for a Championship

I figured out why the Hawks couldn't beat the Celtics on the road... Looking at the Boston crowd is like staring into a lightbulb. All you can see is white.

So are the Spurs. Bird also had a better team surrounding him.

I just think it's close. Bird has an edge, but I don't think it's a large edge.

I've had to watch Duncan destroy my Suns year in and year out. Maybe I'm biased because I only caught the end of Bird's career.

Well the officials let the players play for 3 quarters, and din't call every little ticky tacky touch foul on the Celtics. Give the Hawks another 40 free throws, and it might have been a close game, especially if Bibby and Josh Smith had managed to show up.

Too bad, I was rooting for the Hawks to put an end to Doc Rivers' tenure in Boston.

The Hawks got that many free throws because they attacked the basket. Something the Celtics weren't able to do (my theory is that they were scared of Al Horford and Zaza Pachulia).
